The Queue: Rum Ham

Stop saying "rum ham!"
Terrant asked:
Server time zone: Does it matter, or should I just roll on the realm that has a name I like?
That's up to you, really! Remember that raiding guilds tend to raid during their particular time zone's prime time, which can vary depending on your realm, so keep that in mind if you want to raid and have a work schedule or other temporal concerns. Also keep in mind that server latency will vary depending on the server's location, which you can at least partially determine based on the server's time zone.
tabardsrock asked:
I was wondering about the tooltips for transmogged gear. If I inspect someone that's "wearing" Tier 2 (for example), will the tooltip in the dressing room show anything regarding the cosmetic appearance? Or will it just say what they really have on (Tier 13)?
I ask because I'm planning on transmogging my cloak to a Stoneskin Gargoyle Cape, and I really want to make sure people realize it's white and looks longer than your average cloak or cape.
Transmogrification is only a visual effect. The tooltip of a transmogrified item has no changes except for a little line that says "Transmogrified to look like (item name)." Flavor text or any other information from the other item won't be displayed.
Fweet asked:
While flying around on my Priest alt, tryng to find Deathwing, I wondered why my companion pets don't assume Shadowform the way my mounts do. I get to ride a Shadow Stormsaber. May I please have a Shadow Murky? (Not my real question.)
Why do mounts assume the color/transparency/etc. of their rider?
It's really late, so you'll have to pardon me if the wording on this answer is strange, but when you cast a mount spell, your character's model is actually changed to be your character plus your mount. Basically, your mount gets Shadowform because the game doesn't distinguish between your character and your mount when you're mounted.
Thatacus asked:
Will the Darkmoon Faire Island be PvP flagged?
The fairgrounds aren't contested but the area outside them is, so leave at your peril.
Dr. Nothing asked:
My fiance and I have both signed up to the 12 month annual pass. Now I read Lawbringer so my question isn't of that concern, what I don't know is Tyrael's charger: Will this be an account wide perk like say for instance my corehound pup, in the mail on every new char I create, or, will it be a one time one char deal ala the RAF mounts?
As far as we're aware, it'll work just like a Celestial Steed or a Winged Guardian, and each character on your account will get one in the mail.

QftQ:
Will the 25 man version of Dragon Soul drop more shards for the Rogue legendary than the 10 man version?
Crispn Nov 19th 2011 12:44PM
Always as in the one time you could get a legendary in a 10man?
It'll probably be faster, but it's still subject to change. the staff's chain wasn't perfect, tweaks are probably in order.

For all the rogues in 10 man guilds I really hope its not as bad as Dragonwrath. I'm first in line to get the staff in my 10 man guild and I STILL don't have it. I'll be getting it on Sunday, while 25 man guilds were getting their first staves months ago. I understand the concept that 25 man guilds should get proportionally more staves, but having to wait until there are 1-2 weeks left in the tier is terrible. Also, the person behind me is still on cinders so if we want to get a second legendary we have to do a couple of months of Firelands after Dragon Soul comes out, while 25 mans are probably getting their 4th if not 5th legendary already.

@bmost: if you don't mind me asking, how progressed is your guild? I raid lead a 3/7 heroic raid guild and we're not even close to finishing our first staff. It makes me wonder just how good you have to be to finish a damn staff before 4.3.
Angus Nov 19th 2011 2:37PM
Crispn: Being able to get one is faster than not being able to get one at all.
;)
So yes, 25s have ALWAYS granted faster legendary creation time than 10 mans.
Ice Nov 19th 2011 3:14PM
We got our first staff last week on 10man and we've been progressing heroic modes since week 2 (week1 normal mode etc). We've been doing about 18 shannox and rhyolith heroics so far and 10-15 others. We are 6/7 also.
While other guild, 25man, with similiar progress has 2 staff users and very very close to 3rd already.
Since I was meant to be second who to get staff on our raid I simply gave up and havent even gone past first staff. No one wants to get dragged to firelands for months and months for legendary that I will prolly take so long it becomes irrelevant or mop happens to get released making legendary obsolete cos wands are mainhanders ;D
Ianmis Nov 19th 2011 3:50PM
Afraid I don't recall if it was mention as to whether or not you can acquire the rogue legendary through the raid finder. Would anyone happen to know and have a link to the official statement?
divinite Nov 19th 2011 4:22PM
@Angus - Technically your answer is true. However, this is the first time a legendary has been able to be completed on both 10/25 man. All previous legendary items were completed at 25 (or 40) man only.
You could not finish Val'anyr in Uld 10. You could not finish Shadowmourne in ICC 10.
To say it's ALWAYS been that way is a fallacy.
That said, the rate at which staffs were completed in 10 man for Dragonwrath is silly. We've been clearing 4/7 heroic for a while (and are now 5/7) and are still about 4-6 weeks off our first staff as a 10 man team.
Sally Bowls Nov 19th 2011 6:41PM
Well, 25s have always given you more VP than 10s.
Recently Blizzard changed it so they won't in 4.3.
So I would bet that they will, but IMHO it is not quite the certainty that some say.
Prissa Nov 19th 2011 6:53PM
@ eel5pe
For comparison, on our server, the guild that got realm first heroic rag is 10 man and only got their first staff last week.
The realm first staff was completed by a 25 man on alliance, so don't know the details exactly, but they were relatively well progressed, like 5th or so on the realm.
Angus Nov 19th 2011 6:55PM
divinite: I stand by my comment. No legendary = less speed than a legendary.
It was a stupid move, in my opinion. And the stupidity of the current legendary is worse.
10 mans having to take 4-5 times longer to get a staff was a stupid and unnecessary move.
"We want legendarys to be rare." Really?
Cause all the 25 man raids have 2-3 already. when 10% of one kind of raid comp has the thing it isn't rare. When almost none of the other has one, it is rare. The rate needs to be such that 25 mans aren't stealing raiders because they can get the staff faster.
The new crop of rogues is likely to be heading to 25 mans as well. Why waste time being in a 10 man raid when you can get it quickly?
Skarn Nov 19th 2011 8:28PM
@Ianmis You can NOT get legendary items through the Raid Finder. Rogues won't be working on their Daggers in LFR: "Also, there are certain items, as well as components for legendary weapons, which will not drop in Raid Finder raids."

RE: Dragonwrath - My guild "collector" is at 40-50 Smouldering Essences right now. We just hit 4/6 Heroics last week. Likely two more weeks of Firelands will leave him at least 120 to go. While we were never SUPER progressed, we've been clearing a large portion of the place the entire time, the drop rates are still silly-low on 10s.
j0ust Nov 19th 2011 9:00PM
"So yes, 25s have ALWAYS granted faster legendary creation time than 10 mans."
Errr, what? This the the first legendary that 10 mans have ever had access to. There is no precedent here, at all.
Revynn Nov 19th 2011 10:17PM
Hard modes help a lot. My 10M guild is about to finish our second Dragonwrath.
Malon Nov 20th 2011 6:13AM
@Revyn - hard modes don't help at all. You get the same amount of drops in heroic 10-man as you do in normal.
We're 6/7 on 10-man, and have been for about a month, and still only got our first staff last week. The second staff guy is still on Cinders, and me, the third, is on Cinders but can't get any because the second guy is taking them all. We've bottle-necked.

But why is the rum ham gone?
Seriously, I don't know what that is, but it looks delicious.

Ham + rum = Happydance!

Thor17: Sorry, not watching that many US shows these days, mostly FG/SP/Simpsons/TBBT, and waiting for White Collar and Game of Thrones to return :) Oh, and catching up on Breaking Bad!
