yep. dungeon finder did that first. i have fond memories of skirmishes happening at the summon stones in northrend. mind you i was usually the first one dead... but it always added a sense of uncertainty and i loved it.

anyway... Catac i think was a resounding success. unfortunately, it wasn't really meant for us who have been playing the game for several years now. i think it was really targeting newer players, thus the revamp in old zones. they had to do it sometime to ensure (or atleast have a chance at) continued growth. but yeah, it came at the expense of more experienced people. i'm not so optimistic about MoP but i believe that expansion will be more focused on the older players.
