The Daily Quest: On the brink of patch 4.3
WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Patch 4.3 has a ton of really lovely new music. From the haunting melodies in the Well of Eternity instance to the jaunty tunes of Darkmoon Island, there is an amazing amount of new stuff to listen to. While I know most people don't do it, I'd suggest when the patch hits, take a minute, turn your music up, and listen to the tracks in the new areas -- they're gorgeous.
Speaking of the upcoming patch, we've got a few posts from around the blogosphere discussing what 4.3 has in store.

Is 4.3 going live this Tuesdays?

The most likely date (a tweet by one of the forum moderators pretty much confirms it) is November 29th, next week. It wasn't an "official" statement so if anything goes wrong and it doesn't happen then no one can blame them. But its still the day PvP season ends and points get scrambled.

Blizzard have never released a patch in the middle of a world event (in this case Pilgrims Bounty). So I would expect 4.3 to hit after it is finished. That would be 29th Nov for US and 1st Dec for us Europeans.

@EvilGrin: You're being facetious, right?
Patch 4.0.3a, the Shattering, landed during Pilgrim's Bounty last year. So yes, Blizzard has released a patch in the middle of a world event - in fact, the SAME world event going on right now.
I remember because after the patch hit, all of the guards in the capital cities were buffed, and I was *very* glad I'd completed my Pilgrim's Peril achievement on Monday night before the patch.

4.3 is not going live this Tuesday as they have announced maintenance will be an hour of rolling restarts. They're getting better at patch days (I think 4.2 the servers came up EARLY) but I don't think they're that good yet. Expect it on the 29th.

True, almost every major patch has occured during a Holiday. At least since 2008.

So, it hit me the other day that with a static mana pool we might see Ret Paladins regaining their ability to do some meaningful healing in Arenas. Maybe. Blizzard will probably nuke that, but one can hope, right?
