Well, to be fair, the most recent one did not follow this pattern if WoWpedia is correct:

Arena Season 9 ended 6/28 according to http://www.wowpedia.org/Arena_PvP_system

Patch 4.2 dropped 6/28 according to http://www.wowpedia.org/Patch_4.2.0
