wow another reduction for northrend xp. a massive one this time.what about outland? that's currently the stalling point for most of the people i know, because it's a farking GRIND. if you buckle down you can power through it okay, but it's far and away the slog-point. on the upside my rogue will actually make it out of northrend after getting parked at 70...

I agree about Outland; it seems to be where my alts hit the wall. Northrend took me awhile to get through, but I enjoyed the story/zones...I have two toons, 62 and 65, that are just hanging out in OL, because I have no desire to do it again. It took me a long time to get my druid through there, and the only reason he finally made it through was because I wanted my own personal (dis)enchanter, instead of relying on my guild leader, who took FOREVER.

monkey - 100% they're actually making it so that we'll smoke our way through northrend. woo. great. we get to haul ass through the part of the game where the story is actually pretty damn interesting. outland is the gauntlet. if a character stalls out there for too long, they're gone and i'm rolling something else. this happened to my first tank and damn near happened to my rogue, only i got the news of fangs of the father and realized there was something to work towards, maybe. of course i'm now starting to really feel the 'guh. rogue.' scenario. yeah they're interesting but leveling just feels... stale. and it's not northrend so much as the mechanics of the rogue. the very static approach doesn't feel engaging at the moment. /end rogue bitch. it's a curious scenario they're playing out here. i'd love to see outland revisions in the future, but if those won't happen how about we change it up so that we can get through it a little faster?

I thought this Northrend XP reduction was just mirroring what they've already done for Outland previously...

Really? Outland? I find outland goes almost as fast as any 10 levels (not the first 10 obviously) 1-60. Hellfire, zangermarsh and a bit of any 3rd zone you want to do and it is off to Northrend. My rogue died in Northrend because it seemed so long from 70-71.

By moving quest givers into the dungeons, for those of use lvling through that way, we should be powering through there as well. Instead of doing three dungeons for half a level, we can do one and get the killing exp and the quest exp. Also quest rewards for those of us still wearing our old-world trinkets. (Second wind can never die!) I mean, Blizz, would it kill you to drop some Intel leather for us?Signed,Rootfrog the Complain-y Resto Druid.

Found it. Looks like they did a 30% reduction already for Outland:http://wow.joystiq.com/2008/09/04/60-70-xp-changes-coming-in-3-0-2/

Well, I'll be damned.

I find it interesting that people are having issues with outland. I want to say on my last toon who went through there, they did all of Hellfire and ended at 64 I think? It was a breeze.Northrend though... my shammy is rotting at 74 I think because I'm tired of it : /

I am one of these people who have no problems leveling my alts through Outlands either, especially with Dungeon Finder. My mage and hunter both blazed thru the Outlands as recently as last summer. One even did the quests instead of using Dungeon Finder, at least up to Blade's Edge. Then both came to an abrupt stop in the Borean Tundra. And by abrupt stop I mean a screeching skid head-first into an ogre's belly. In fact, it wasn't until WoW's 7th anniversary I finally mustered up the patience necessary to level my hunter a little bit with the additional experience bonus. And even then, the grind from 71 to 72 still took me way too long (I've had enough of mechagnomes). And that's just in Borean Tundra, a zone I'm still somewhat fond of (I purposely avoid Howling Fjord now)- now Dragonblight, Grizzly Hills and Zul'drak, THESE are the places I dread now. I've done them too many times. And, I'm not sure I'll like doing Storm Peaks again, either.Let's just say that I am really happy for the Dungeon Finder as being an alternate option, although I haven't really used it yet because I wanted to level my alts' professions along the way, too. This is not to say Northrend isn't a fascinating place. It is. I loved questing through there the first and second times around. And in fact, I hope everybody gets to experience it fully, at least once. I wish the same for the Outlands. But I happily welcome the xp bonus for my alts.
