Give the gift of StarCraft!
Like it or not, it's pretty much the law that you have to buy gifts for everyone at this time of year. Thankfully, Blizzard has your back, because now you can deliver a $60 gift for less than 30 bucks. For a limited time, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is available for a mere $29.99 -- that's 50% off the suggested retail price.
Click here for details, but don't delay; this offer ends Monday November 28th.

I'm confused by the blue statement: "Thankfully, Blizzard has your back, because now you can deliver a $60 gift for less than 30 bucks." However, on the link, it says "Digital gifting not available for StarCraft II®: Wings of Liberty™"...how does this work?
Also, is this a good price for SC2? I'm debating on whether to get it or not (whether I'd actually play it or not really) and I know that it can be had at $50 at Amazon, so it's still cheaper, but is it forseeable that maybe the price would drop further sometime around this time of year?

It's campaign and modding community is fantastic even if you don't like melee, there's plenty to offer in sc2.

I've had a great time with the campaign mode and a tiny bit of skirmish mode. I don't do multi-player because it makes me angry. Certainly worth $30 to me (I paid full price for a collector's edition and am completely happy with my purchase.)

SC2 has an unlimited free trial of the first few missions, so you can see if you like RTS games or not before you spend the $.

Prices on Blizzard games never go down. The prices of all of Blizzard's titles has, as far as I can tell, remained the same since the introduction of The Burning Crusade Battlechest. IN 2007! Compare that to the other great games that came out in 2007: Modern Warfare can be had for $20 new on steam. Portal and TF2 are FREE now.
Seriously, any strategy gamers should buy starcraft now if they haven't already. Did you see that mod store they were showing off in blizzcon? It looks sweet.

Last year you could snag WoW, Burning Crusade, and Wrath of the Lich King for $20 combined for Black Friday.

And, uh, Portal ain't free.
Portal was free twice. First time for the Mac update which released Steam, TF2, and Portal for Mac. And again a couple of months back.
TF2 is only free because Valve is supporting the game via microtransactions. They realized they would make more money selling things to people than actually charging for the game. So now we have $20 hats, and $5 weapons, and $5 items, and a scam-like system where the game randomly drops you crates that can only be opened by buying $2.50 keys from the online store, and then you get a random item which may or may not be valuable to you.

Huh, I guess they do Black Friday every year now. Blizzard games still stay at full price much longer than the average.

I got Portal free when I bought the Orange Box version of Half-Life 2.
Drakkenfyre Nov 23rd 2011 12:21AM
Not to get too technical, but you didn't buy the "Orange Box version of Half-Life 2", you bought the Orange Box. A bundle of 5 games. You paid for them all, even tho the box was incredibly cheap for including 5 games.
They also had a "Black Box", which contained only the new games, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, TF2, and Portal, but it was cancelled before release, and only people who bought ATI cards at the time and had gotten a coupon for a free copy included could get it. You registered it on Steam, and got all three.

Other gaming news, the Humble Bumble bundle is back with the newest bundle, the Introversion bundle.

For whatever price you want (including 1 penny, if you are a cheap bastard) you get DEFCON, Darwinia, Multiwinia, and Uplink.
If you pay more than the average as of this comment, which is $3.76, you also get Aquaria and Crayon Physics Deluxe.
You also get any future games they throw in this bundle.
