Tuesday Morning Post: News delivery smorgasbord edition
That said, there's plenty of new to be had this week, from Black Friday sales to more ways to earn conquest points. We have the usual roundup after the break -- but hey, if reading bulleted lists isn't your thing (or even if it is), why not try it in video form? Right up there, our own Mat McCurley delivers the big headlines of the past week, and he looks and sounds prettier than I do while doing it. You can catch him every Friday right here on the site.
With that, we pretty much have a way to deliver the news to whichever sense you like. Want to watch it? We have video. Want to hear it? We have a podcast. Want to read it? That goes without saying. We're still working on tasting it, but give us a few years. Whatever way you take your news, downtime today is a quick set of rolling restarts starting at 10 a.m. Pacific, so you'll have at least a little time to get caught up.

It is in fact tuesday... =P

Way to utterly suck Blizzard. Instead of getting to spend my Thanksgiving holiday playing the new patch, we now get it during the busiest week of the year after Thanksgiving when no one will have any time to play due to mid terms/finals/pre-xmas crunches.

You answered your own question: Blizzard's engineers have lives outside of Warcraft too, and spending a long weekend at Blizzard's beck and call, fixing crashes, doing hot fixes, is not their idea of how to enjoy Thanksgiving weekend (if they are in town at all).

Yeah I feel really sorry for people who make video games for a living, especially in this economy. How many people would kill for a job like that? I'd absolutely work through Thanksgiving if I could make money creating video games. They're also probably working through the weekend to get the patch out by next Tuesday anyway, so it's just Blizzard's incompetence that's pushing this back a week.
Also, they're working in an industry that's 24 hours a day, seven days a week entertainment. Having their products ready for their customer's free time is the entire goal of their job. So they just failed at it. I've worked jobs in the service industry where I've had to work through holidays so I have zero sympathy. You do what you have to do.

Wait... *checks calendar
Yes! I have a day off scheduled on Dec 8! The day after 4.3 lands in the EU (or, close enough anyway)! I'm so going to be diving nose-first into the Raid Finder!

Why is there no patch? Why?
I want new content. I'm itching for it bad. I need my fix.
Help me bad. If I got to do Lord Rhyloith one more time, I might scream at the shadow priest in my guild. "Stop using mind sear on the spark. REALLY"

We will be performing rolling restarts on Tuesday, November 22nd, beginning at 10:00 AM PDT for all realms. Downtime for each realm is expected to be minimal, and the overall process should conclude at approximately 11:00 AM PDT.
This Is why.

Apparently, my facetious humor failed. I guess by definition it has to fail if it is facetious humor.
