Breakfast Topic: What's your idea of good random in-game fun?
Imagine you are an elemental shaman. You notice that Arathi Basin is on Call to Arms and decide to queue up. You've got a bit of a crazy streak in you, so you decide to head up to the Lumber Mill. You're new to the path of the shaman and are still experimenting with your abilities. The battle is getting pretty overwhelming, and you know you don't have a lot of health. You really don't want that warrior getting too close. You decide to throw out a Thunderbolt in an attempt keep some distance and watch in awe as the warrior's frustrated body sails beautifully through the air and off the cliff to meet his certain demise below.
That was awesome!
You've just found your purpose in WoW. After the BG, you relate your experience to your friends. Before you know it, you've got a group of elemental shaman and boomkins queuing up for Arathi Basin and Eye of the Storm with no other purpose in mind than to knock as many people to their deaths as possible. Unfortunately for the rest of your frustrated team, you don't care about winning or losing; you are having the time of your life.
While it certainly is fun to have the best gear, down the toughest raid bosses, or reach that next Arena rating, sometimes we all need to step back from the seriousness and remind ourselves that we are playing a game. Sometimes we need to take a break from the emblem grinding and talent tweaking and just do something that makes us laugh until our sides ache.
Whether it's forming a knockback brigade, repeatedly jumping off high cliffs, or dueling while under the influence of in-game alcohol, tell us what you do when you just want to have a good time.

I do the same thing on my tankadin. Take a break from doing zuls and queue up for some regulars. Lot of other high gear people doing that here lately too, I think they're JP capping for the patch.

I used to do it in Wrath. I would chain random heroics one after another. I guess the other players loved getting an ICC-geared tank as well :)
Unfortunately, I can't stand Cata's Heroics.

I do this as well :) I always get the same reaction in my full T12 "Holy _______". It's nice to know I make their day by making their run super easy, plus I can explain any fights that they might need. I am super nice about it too. In reality all I do it for is the JP (BOA gear FTW!) and the Chaos Orb.... also for the lulz. I actually like most of the dungeons, even Halls of Org which used to be the bane of my existence on normal (Got it three times in a row one night!) it's now something I really enjoy doing :)

Back in TBC, the mages and priests in my guild used to play a game of chicken with the aim to be the first one to hit the ground without dying. We would go outside of Magtheridons raid entrance (as it had the largest gap between the flight ceiling and the ground) and all then fly straight up to the flight ceiling. We'd then cancel the mount at the same time and the aim was to make sure you hit Levitate/Slowfall at the last possible second. Too soon and someone would fall past you. Too late and you were a pancake.
Sadly had no-one to play with in Wrath, but if you want to play the best place now is the large pit east of the Temple of Storms in the Stormpeaks.

I've played this game, but with two druids. My bf indulges me when I'm bored. We'll fly up to the ceiling and whomever hits the flight form button first loses. Though, if you die you doubly lose. :D it's quite fun! I've even had a few druidy guildies join in, which is even better. The more the merrier!

Jumping from stone to stone on the Stormwind walls, seeing how many jumps I make before missing or falling off.

I play my Druid like I'm a budding new Druid like the one out in WPL, u know the troll Druid who can't control himself. Leap, Leap, Leap, pounce!

Back when you couldn't fly in Dalaran, there was a glitch that would let you descend to just above the fountain in front of the Horde bank if you angled it just right. People used that to show of their new prestige mounts. I spent hours trying to get that angle down, and when I'd figured that out, trying to get other places on the Dalaran rooftops.
It's something we lost when we got flying - now you can fly just about anywhere except battlegrounds and Silvermoon, and nobody goes to Silvermoon. I'd love to have a no-fly gathering city in MoP, just to find more of those little glitches and jump exploits.

Can do the same on Ali side bank....Same thing, we used to just hang up there and chit chat with each other in game.
I have been alt-ing it up this xpac, so not much time to hang around town like I did back in Wrath. Goal was to have 10 lvl 85's, but with only 10 slots, I had to delete one to make room for a Panda. Only 2 left to go (Pally and my 4th druid).
The only real hanging around we have going on is the 2 people w/ Legendary staff on our server just fly right above the Trade District fountain, and of course our Bunny Eared, Christmas Dressed Alchy seller that stands on the AH steps.
When we get bored, we find someone with a pet addiction, and then go around the world to try to help them get the next pet.

Having an Ele Shaman, I loved this story!
I actually enjoyed doing the Plants vs Zombies for the first time. It was fun, but not nearly as exciting as launching people off the cliff in AB or the flag in EoTS.

My guild used to do guild races, where everyone would roll a level one toon and try to be the first to higher level areas. Prizes went out to the person who placed first along with the person with the most amount of deaths. We're an Alliance guild, but my favorite race was when I had everyone roll level 1 trolls and orcs on another server and race to Moonglade. So many deaths in Felwood...

Heh...my guild does something similar on occasions. We call it the "Running of the Bulls"; we pick a different server, and everyone starts a brand new baby Tauren. We then proceed to TB to /salute Baine, then zep it over to Org and do the same for Garrosh, followed by another zep to UC for a trip to Sylvannas...another zep to STV down to Booty Bay, then boat it over to Ratchet to head towards the finish line in Crossroads. Oh, and all the while flagged for PVP. Sometimes we'll lose 1 or 2 in Mulgore, but the most fun is had in STV, where your agro radius is ridiculously huge and you're 1-shot by an angry gorilla or zombie. Fortunately, resurrections are allowed, so we generally end up spirit healed outside Booty Bay, eventually.
We also do a thing called the Bunny Hop, where everyone goes to the Great Lift, and gets wanded into a rabbit and has to hop from there to Org. Any run speed enchants/talents need to be removed prior so no one has an unfair advantage, and no speed skills (like a rogue's Sprint) are not allowed. It's much more difficult now with the rift b/w N/S Barrens though. If you're popped out of rabbit form for whatever reason, you're required to stay there until the leader can come and rezap you...integrity counts and all that jazz!

I like it when a boomkin or a shaman tries to knock me off at lumber mill, and if I am quick enough, I can Heroic Leap right back onto them! I'm sure they are like OMGWTFBBQHAXX as I BLADESTORRRRRRRRRRM on their faces!
Heroic Leap was probably the one single thing introduced in Cata (or pre-cata since it was in the pre-expac patch) that kept me interested in the game. I don't know why, but it makes playing a warrior sooooooo fun (especially Fury)!
My random in-game fun? I'll fly up to Eastern Plaguelands, put on my biker duds, Arcanite Ripper in hand, and ride cross country down to Booty Bay on my Mechano-Hog. Cruisin for a bruisin!

back in BC a buddy of mine and i got drunk in vent together and decided to see how twinked we could get a lvl1. we spent hours that night getting mats and running around on our mains looking for people with old mc/bwl chants. this was also right before they made the leg chants soulbound. my lvl1 rogue had 300+ hp. we just hung out in goldshire dueling anyone above lvl10. once, with the help of some lucky crusader procs, i even beat a lvl15 hunter.
we had a blast!

Cupcakes hoooooo! That's gonna be in my head all day.

I was gm of a guild and ran a Guild Lottery. I got on an alt and sent my main tons of mail, most of them said sorry try again, some had gold rewards and others had vanity pets etc. My main would take the copy mail from the post box and put them all in the guild bank until a whole tab was filled, you couldn't tell what was on it just from mousing over them all they said was Plain letter. Charged people from the guild some gold that it would cost me and then divided the letters up amongst the players so they each got X amounts of with drawls.
Dementron Nov 23rd 2011 6:38PM
I'm going to have to try something like this. I think I might just wrap some small pets and novelty items and stick them in the guild bank rather than running an actual lottery though.
Dementron Nov 23rd 2011 11:52PM
Awwww, I can't put wrapped items in the guild bank. I'll have to think of something else.

Teach people how to loop-the-loop on their Flying mounts, Its amazing how many people dont know how. ;)
fallenphoenix Nov 23rd 2011 9:54AM
/mountspecial is a fun one too. It's great when you rear back on your Proto-drake/Headless Horseman Mount/Whatever and someone tries to do it too and just sails up into the air :)
