Jaina Proudmoore isn't always the most respected lore figure in WoW. I definitely tend to be on the hater side of the Jaina fence; it bothers me that she tends to respond to men's actions, rather than initiate actions of her own. Still, Jaina is definitely an important person in the game; she's central to many of the plots that drove The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King.
Inspired by a fictional drama created by Korean artist Charalue, Lohaf created this amazing video called Jaina's Clover Story. Whether you like Jaina or not, take the time to watch this video. The art and music both bring a sense of haunted longing to the story. Overall, it's just a gorgeous video. The editing and effects were created by Lohaf, and the art and story belong to Charalue. Is it really called Fi's Theme? I can't seem to find official information about this track, and it's frustrating me, because it's so _gorgeous_ that I have to buy the soundtrack it's on as soon as possible!
"it bothers me that she tends to respond to men's actions, rather than initiate actions of her own" You're not saying it is different in this video, but... it is not different in this video. Ignoring the emotional aspect, she basically says: "I used to miss you, but I will move on. But I still miss you." She's clinging to her lost love despite claiming she doesn't anymore. Turning on our "emotion sensors" again, this is not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't see her portrayed as a strong, active woman in this video.
Also, inevitable lollore rant: I'm admittedly unfamiliar with the Anime style, so I could be mistaken, but in the vision, Jaina and Arthas appear to be young children - they didn't meet until after he became a Knight of the Silver Hand at the age of 19.
I'm personally a big fan of Chromie's mysteriously stoic expression. It's so at odds with the ditzy, scatterbrained lovable scamp we know from canon, and yet...so very, very effective. Especially in this companion comic, also by the author: http://i.imgur.com/IE8iN.jpg
In the Arthas novel, they most certainly meet much much younger. I don't have my copy of the novel to hand, but he escorts her from Capital City to Dalaran and they sneak away from the adults at night to look at Orcs in an internment camp. If you check her wowpedia page it describes Arthas as her childhood friend and one time love interest.
Keep in mind that Wowpedia pages are written by fans. Mistakes can be made. I don't have my copy on hand atm either, loaned it, but Arthas' page states that they first met during his training to become a Knight of the Silver Hand, at that time he was probably already in his later teens. http://www.wowpedia.org/Arthas#History
You can't compare some videos, but that's one of the best WoW-related videos I have seen! I was thinking more of real life, because of the video, than the video itself. To inspire thoughts beyond a video is no mean feat. I found the experience more emotional than expected.
I love that she asks if she could see him. For a lady to have so much love and yet still to tread on egg-shells makes me feel all the more like giving her a big hug and telling her that everything will be ok. You see? Taken beyond the video!
PLEASE ARRANGE AN INTERVIEW WITH LOHAF!
Any user can right click the "Jaina's Clover Story" text, go to youtube and message Lohaf directly (which I am about to do), but I would like to see an interview - covering the motivation behind this video, the thoughts that fuelled it and the techniques used.
THANK YOU for sharing this and congratulations to Mr Lohaf!
Jaina has so much potential, and yet all she seems to do is sit around in Theramore, and get trotted out every so often when they need an Alliance NPC for an instance like Hyjal or the ICC 5 mans.

If Jaina wasn't a woman you wouldn't even notice, and just assume that she's a hands off kind of person trying to keep the peace- a very reactive sort of role for the most part, no matter how you slice it.
As a girl meself, I call that sexism. Not everyone needs to be badass action girl no. 4.
Ok, I understand a lot of people really enjoyed that, but it didn't really do anything for me to be honest. Also, I have an inherent distrust of anime. :P

I really like seeing an anime version of Wow. This was really nice.
Kind of looked like Type Moon mixed with Full Metal Alchemist. XD

No, you're right - they're definitely implied to have been childhood friends/sweethearts in this vid.
As always, I find myself wondering what Chronormu is really thinking behind her mask.
