The idea behind symbiosis is intriging and the can work, the only problem is like how you stated, the balancing, what they could do is take oe of the class only specs that each spec get and have that be one of the available abilities that can be copied.

an example is druid links with priest. druid gets power word barrier, priest gets wild growth.

I really hope this idea doesn't get scrapped to me it seems to add an interesting twist tot he mechanics
