The ability a druid gets is determined by: 1) The druid's spec. 2) The target's class. That's 40 (or 44 if other druids are legitimate targets) possible abilities for the druid to gain.
The ability a druid gives is determined by: 1) The target's class. 2) The target's role. That's (four pures, four double role classes, and two more triple role classes) 18 abilities passed out (or 22, if again druids can use symbiosis on each other AND they gain a different ability when they swap Symbioses).
