Breakfast Topic: Which storyline do you want more of?

WoW has so many ongoing storylines that it's hard to keep track of them all. Occasionally, they blend and merge, and sometimes they simply drift off without any sort of resolution. Sometimes we can get all caught up in the story and then abruptly it's gone. Sometimes storylines are resolved in books and unless you make a point of reading the novels or the comics you have no way of knowing what eventually happened, unless you can find some random NPC who will drop hints.
I've never managed to pull off Loremaster, so I've missed the ends of lots of storylines. I do always perk up a bit when I hear bits about the Old Gods. This particular storyline is fascinating to me, and it always just seems to show up in hints and winks, with occasionally an Old God turning up as a big boss. I know I would like to see more happening with these guys, like the sneaky little voice that show up sometimes with archaeology.
What about you? Are there any stories that petered out that you want to hear the end of? Do you like catching the beginning of the story and filling in the blanks in the Caverns of Time? Do you hope other old stories get revived?

@Taokore: I appreciate the support, but the gnomes haven't really been doing the Occupy Ironforge thing since Cata launched. (After nuking Gnomeregan, does that make gnomes the 1%?)

I want to see more story opportunities where you have the opportunity to be the *bad guy*. More specifically, factions like The Scourge were very interesting while you were able to work alongside them and see how their campaign was being pushed along. You got to understand their reasoning, their morals, and more importantly, how their war machines and military and social structures worked. I want to see more of this--I want to see more quest-lines like the Battlemaiden in Vashj'ir where you get to live like a naga--if only temporarily. I'd like to see if Kel'Thuzad has a Phylactery left, and I want to see how Bolvar develops as a character.
There are a lot of factions in the game, and a lot of races. Most of them we don't know too intimately, and I think that's a shame. I'd like to see a day in the life of a kobold, for example, or in general more races. Maybe this is the sort of content that should be covered by the books, but seeing it in-game can provide a lot of immersion that would otherwise be absent.

I certainly agree. Sadly I feel this is unlikely since people complain about things like the battlemaiden quests because they want to play their class and not a vehicle. Honestly I don't really understand that mentality. I love those sorts of quests because they add a bit of variety. Sometimes I get tired of the same old rotation over and over.

One word: Gilneas

The Day That Deathwing Came. Punching Pandas in the face would be amusing and terrifying at the same time.

That quest kinda bugs me on reflection because Theradas was really, really not like that before Cata.
Theradas was paranoid and possibly insane. He gave you a magic skull in exchange for finding a way to protect him from a curse that may not exist.

Something... actually anything for alliance paladins. And I don't mean a neutral faction isolated in a horde occupied Lordaeron and doing feck all. Give me Silver Hand, give me a paladin leader to inspire both paladins and the Alliance alike. Give me High General TURALYON!
Please please I want him to come back to Azeroth and be all "wtf lads whats with this neutral nonsense? Tirion go play all you want in Hearthglen with your new sindorei ocr and goblin recruits, me and the rest of the alliance paladins will be all Silvered up, taking names and kicking butts and living the life by the paladin vow." Give him a lovely HQ in the cathedral area of Stormwind - prettier than the Argent Offices and with lovely Silver Hand Banners.
If only letters to Santa worked this way. Sigh.

I love anything argent crusade, so I totally am down with this. I feel a need to be apart of an order, kind of liken it to the Knights Templar. The whole "righteousness thing" is one of the main reasons I play a paladin. I wish there was more about the paladins of the light vs the blood knights.

This. This so much.
taokore Nov 28th 2011 2:43PM
Yes. So much yes.

I have three Human Paladins, a Draenei Paladin and this ... so MUCH this ...the devs seem to already focus on what one other poster asked for, which is being a *bad guy*. I want to be the GOOD guy, and feel like the good guy WON for a change.

A new Order of Paladins that fight with the Alliance and against the Horde would be nice. Don't hold your breath, though. Only the Horde is allowed to have Paladin Orders that fight the opposite faction. (Sunwalkers, Blood Knights.) (Just like the Horde is the only faction that is allowed to have a City full of Mages.)
One COULD see that as a sign that The Light itself has joined the Horde, since it's wrong for human Paladins to fight the Horde but right for tauren and blood elf paladins to fight the Alliance. :-)

They already hinted at having some resolution to the Zandalari storyline. Vol'jin will hopefully use this as an opportunity to build his standing in the Horde, and if he was to align his people more closely with Thunderbluff or Silvermoon, that would make some interesting tales. What I hope happens is that it will be a part of a much greater story, which in turn would reveal something new about the Old Gods, Azeroth's place in the Universe and if there is some way to tie the Sha into it somehow, that'd just be great.
Then there's the matter of Sylvanas, the Forsaken people and the Valkyr. And with the Gilneans in exile, are they going back to see if there's something to rebuild the old kingdom on, or will they become a bigger power in Darnassus? Are the Gnomes actually going to retake Gnomeregan, are will they still remain at the door peering in?

Four items I would love to see Blizz revisit, but they probably won't for a bit.
1. Arathi Highlands
2. Deadwind Pass
3. Silithis
4.Magatha Grimtotem - (With all the current unrest with the Horde vs. Alliance focus issues on the forums, I think they are going to stay away from story lines that could be perceived as "Horde" for a bit. And that is fine, I am sure a continuation will come sooner or later.)
Story line I would like to see continued that I think they will address is what is going on with the leadership in Ironforge.

Akama, Gallywix, the fate of Sentinel Hill, Calia Menethil, the Broken in Swamp of Sorrows, Gilneas, Kul Tiras, Stromgarde. (You might notice a trend on the last few.)
He'd have to get mentioned to count as a storyline, but it's been roughly 6 years since BC and I'm still a-waiting on Turalyon.

Thinking more about the image up top there....
Does anyone else find it odd that when asked at Blizzcon about the status of Neptulon, they outright refused to answer?
Perhaps a patch on par with sunwell in the works prior to Pandaria?
Blayze Nov 28th 2011 9:19AM
They've already said that they consider his unfinished storyline to be finished.
dazziq Nov 28th 2011 9:24AM
Yes, but wouldn't they then simply state that again when asked at Blizzcon?
Perhaps I'm reading into it too much, or perhaps it's wishful thinking, but just struck me as strange.
Blayze Nov 28th 2011 10:35AM
If memory serves, that's what they did say at Blizzcon--that Neptulon's story was over and they weren't going back to it because "OOH FIRELANDS LET'S WORK ON THAT"
dazziq Nov 28th 2011 11:04AM
It's possible I missed that, but I do recall exactly that from the Ask The Devs #8:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2580388888
What I'm referring to is the question asked during the Lore Q&A:
http://wow.joystiq.com/2011/10/22/blizzcon-2011-lore-qanda-liveblog/
"5:06PM Q: What happened to Neptulon in the Throne of Tides?"
"5:07PM A: (Metzen doesn't want to answer it -- seriously)"
