I tell a joke around my house. I used to be thin and svelte, enjoy social interaction, and even occasionally get a tan. Then I embraced the hot new workout program known only as Body by WoW, and all that changed.
That's a joke, of course, and not really true. Still, those of us who look back on our lives before embracing Azeroth can empathize with Wowcrendor's World of Warcraft Commercial Parody. The whole painful nostalgia of life beforeWoW is underscored by The Go Guy.
Yup. We play WoW and it changed our lives ... so that we could listen to The Go Guy in dungeons. I suppose there are worse ways to spend your time, but I do wish he'd shut up longer than a few minutes. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com.
I would say yes, except last night four of my guildies and I on our poorly geared alts were doing a random. Our tank had to go afk (and posted this afk in party chat) for a moment getting into the dungeon, but the fifth (some random rogue) didn't like that, and threw tricks-of-the-trade on the tank and pulled anyway, wiping the group, killing himself, the tank, and everyone but me who just stepped out of the dungeon. This rogue did it again later in the dungeon, but instead decided we should take this group of mobs while the tank was already pulling another set. The rogue pull went bad pulling two sets of mobs. So in total we had three sets of mobs running around, wiping us again. At this point we could finally kick the rogue.
So in short, the go joke, while over done, will always apply to WoW as long as we have players that act like that.
The continued existence of that type of player-and I'm a tank, I know all about them-doesn't make beating a joke to death any funnier. And this video did that. Normally Wowcrendor's videos crack me up big time, this one just didn't work for me.
I'm generally a fan of the Go Guy but in this case, he was a bit much... I'd have preferred him to be more in the background (quieter, maybe a touch slower? see earlier vids) and let the focus be on the guy who's given his life to the game.
This is a good one lol That wowcrendor keeps them coming =]
Besides jfofla there is nothing funny about making videos that praise WoW's features. How many times do you laugh while reading an article on this site? None.
Actually, I regularly find articles on this site funny. Also, not all articles here praise WoW's features. There are discussions about the faults of WoW, but fortunately such articles are about how to deal with them, instead of whining about them like the countless posters on the official forum. For example: http://wow.joystiq.com/2011/11/18/ready-check-cleaning-up-issues-with-raid-finder/
Crendor's videos are funny because they are so relatable. He makes fun of player behaviour way more often than the game itself.

Sadly, I think the "go go go" guy joke just hit overdone.

Hahaha XD
This made me laugh. Finally there is a WoW spot that portrays the game in an accurate way!
(It is sad, but you know it does. )

I love it!!!!! *heartjoo*
Dreyja Nov 28th 2011 1:23PM
LOL! Well be careful what you ask for. We've said we missed Go Guy from the last few vids and boy, did we get him this time. XD
I love Credor!

Hahaha, I was just thinking the same thing.
We didn't just get the go guy, we got ALL the go guy.
jfofla Nov 28th 2011 1:42PM
For somebody that owes so much to the game, Wowcrender does not seem to like any aspect of it.
randyzilinski Nov 28th 2011 2:13PM
How does he owe anything to the game.
He has GOOD videos, besides ones of WoW
He needs them as much as you need to be voted up.
Dreyja Nov 28th 2011 4:36PM
It's just tongue-in-cheek funny stuff. More often he's making fun of US, the community, which is what makes it funny because he's usually so bang-on.
It's all in good fun. I love the game but there is a lot to lovingly laugh at. XD
