Happy non-denominational, non-religious, made-up in-game holidays, everyone! It's that magical Winterveil season. All the good boys and girls in Azeroth -- 95% of whom seem to be orphans, go figure -- are sitting on all sorts of strangers' laps asking for Grindgear Gorillas, a sixth season of The A-Team, and whatever else it is kids like nowadays.

In addition to the usual question of What are you playing? this week, I asked our columnists exactly what it is they all want from Greatfather Winter this year.

Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert) Hardcore archaeology. I'm fighting an illness and not doing anything too strenuous this weekend as a result, and I'm hoping to get the Crawling Claw, but Kalimdor doesn't like cooperating with Tol'vir spawns. I'd like Greatfather Winter to bring my main ... hrm. A new healing weapon. The old one's kinda ratty at this point.

Amanda Miller Rift. As for Greatfather Winter ... new mounts! Giver's choice.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) I am playing Let's Go To The Hardware Store And Get Lots of Lumber. If I win, I get a new bookcase. But I have to assemble it myself! As for the bonus question, gosh, it sure would be nice if Attumen gave me that stinking mount. I've been a very good girl and punched the horse in the face too many times to count.

Chase Hasbrouck (@alarondruid) The Packing Game yay! Heading home in a week, and looking forward to it.

Daniel Desmond (@hazmacewillraid) I'm going to earnestly try to finish the campaign in StarCraft II. That last mission is giving me night terrors of not being able to produce five units before they're all killed.

I'm going to ask Greatfather Winter to stop giving our guild Vanquisher tokens in Dragon Soul. Seriously, they have had every single token we have seen this week -- is that not enough?!

Daniel Whitcomb (@DanielWhitcomb) Playing me some World of Warcraft, of course. Working on the 5-mans for now, though I may give the Raid Finder at least one go. Greatfather Winter needs to help me finish out my BWL weapon collection. That means an old-school Ashkandi, a Maladath, and a Draconic Avenger. That should have me covered for transmogrification for just about every weapon I can wield on my DK with the stuff I already have.

Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen) (gplus.to/foxvanallen) I'm going to finish up the underwhelming (though fun) Super Mario 3DS. On my holiday wish list:

• Another season of Community
• A new mattress in California so I don't have to sleep on the floor
• Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest
• The original The Simpsons arcade game

Joe Perez (@Lodurzj) Skyrim, must ... finish. More Raid Finder when I can, because I miss my It came from the p.u.g. series and need much more entertaining tales for it. Working on some League of Legends, if time permits. Finished my NaNoWriMo novel about a week ago and have been sitting on it; it's just about time to start editing that as well.

I've been a good little dwarf shaman all year long, and I hope that the Greatfather Winter will grace me with some tier drops and some hot dice to win them with.

Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra) Overtime is ramping up at my new job, but the weekend will hopefully bring WoW. I want to be totally unique and transmorg Cadi in T6 Thunderheart. Yup. Totally. Unique. A guildie of mine also got me Limbo on Steam, so I may try that too!
What do I want from Greatfather Winter? ... XBLA points. Although, pending that, peace on Azeroth and good will toward all races.

Matt Low (@matticus) I've been running the Raid Finder on repeat. But since I've already done that, I won't be able to do that this weekend. Perhaps I may scale back and run the Dungeon Finder instead. I would be playing Modern Warfare 3 and L.A. Noire, but I picked those up on Steam and for technical reasons they don't work. I get like black screens or other error messages. I am quite distraught.

Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo) WoW and LoL take center stage this weekend. I hope Winterveil brings me those sexy plate pants off of Battleguard Sartura so I can scare my guild with more half-naked plate antics during raids.

Matthew Rossi (@matthewrossi) Working on writing, doing lots of heroics on my worgen (gonna hit Raid Finder on him soon, as he has just hit ilevel 372) and of course raiding on the tauren. Also gonna do some Skyrim hopefully soon. Definitely looking forward to it.

I don't want anything from Hodir.

Matthew Walsh (@Rhidach) Lots more Skyrim. I can't escape. Oh, and bonus question: I'd say gap closer, but I'm actually getting that now in MoP, so... I guess more time in the day for more Skyrim.

Michael Gray (@writegray) I've turned into an Raid Finder junkie. Despite being maxed on points and obviously on chances to roll, I keep running Raid Finder over and over and over ...

Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) I'll be running the new dungeons, well, a few more before I'm valor-capped. I really like them right now! There will probably be some Battlegrounds too, to try to build up conquest for season 11. Also I'll be freaking out about essays. I'd like Greatfather Winter to give me essay inspiration and the ability to transmogrify my paladin into the Power Ranger PvP set!

Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel) I will be fretting about which alt to play and probably just end up organizing the inventories and mail on each one. [Editor's note: Lisa Poisso missed the boat on replying to this WRUP but upon editing this post would like to add, "ZOMG yes, this! This!"] That will be when not playing in the final SW:TOR beta. Yes, I'm bragging. Pride goeth before a fall, however, so I'm sure to have some trouble getting in like I've been having on their website. My Tiny Tower is slowly getting taller and The Spawn continues to egg on the competition between The Spousal Unit and me.

What do I want from Greatfather Winter? A Jug of Bourbon, just like in real life.
