WoW API used to display player transmogrification sets

Back when it was announced that Blizzard was going to open up community API data streams for enterprising coders, developers, and site admins, we speculated on some of the cool features a system like this could bring. This was well before transmogrification was even a possibility in our eyes, and it looks like the API is being taken to another level.
For those of you who don't know what an API is, imagine that it's like a special set of codes and syntax that you can plug in, ask Blizzard's servers directly for an answer, and receive data back in a specified way. You can then use that data to display cool information -- for instance, someone's transmogged armor set.
Blizzard's API team has really outdone itself with these cool data streams, as have the developers out there who took this information and ran with it. I can only hope and imagine all of the cool things this information can help product that are still just ideas in WoW players' heads.

Cool site. I'm currently looking for a set to go with the Headless Horseman's Hat. Best I could find so far is Sancified Scourgelord's Battlegear (Lookalike)

In addition to the old calendar, I'd like a way to compare achievements like we use to be able to do. My wife and I like to pve together and it is nice to be working on the same achievements. I hate having to scroll through everything and then check her toon too to see if she has that one completed. Big waste of time.

Right beneath the header, towards the center of the page, there's a tiny "Submit" button that leads to a form asking for a title (optional), the link to your toon's armory page, an email address and a name (not sure if it wants real name or what there).

If you're talking about the Breakfast Topic article submissions, you have to wait until the next open call. They seem to go every 4-6 months, I believe, depending on how many they buy during each submission phase.
Also, you have to be a US citizen, due to restrictions in place by AOL, the parent company. (Not sure if you are or not, but I wanted to get that disclaimer in before someone gets let down.)
I'm sure an editor could probably enlighten us on how/when they'll be looking for more submissions.

Whu... what on earth gave you the idea that he was asking about breakfast topics? I don't want to sound angry or rude, but, I mean... yeah. If you read the article he's clearly asking how one submits a toon to the Transmog Fashion tumblr site.
This isn't even a breakfast topic or a queue article. O_o

When transmog first went live, the armory updated to show how my gear was transmogged in the mouse-over text, but still displayed the original armor. When I checked just now, the armory is now displaying what my toon looks like transmogrified!

I like how all the night elf males with shields have nearly half of their bodies obscured by their shield positioning. Not sure if intentional or not, but either way it's hilarious.

First thing I did with transmog is turn my Tauren warrior back into his S2 (or T5, but for those interested S2 is easier to get these days, go to area 52) set and promptly turn into a badass, prompting several whispers asking what I was wearing. Great minds think alike I see ;)

Thats odd, I was just tinkering with the API recently myself - was considering putting together a site like the Armory, but a lot more in-depth (as the API offers a ton more info than whats visible on the Armory). Not really sure if it'd be popular though...

A few months ago, there were several posts, one for each weapon type, that were all about this poster sized graphic someone created to show all the unique models for each expansion, with groupings by rarity and example names.
Where is that now? why isnt it tagged transmogrication?
I NEED IT RIGHT NOW, CANT YOU SEE ITS IMPORTANT?
