Definitely would love to see Varian involved in some questing.I loved Bolvar as a leader -Was it because of all that back story? NoBecause he was a shining example of a Paladin? NoBecause he was a good surrogate Father to Anduin? NoI loved him because when you completed that long quest chain and showed exactly who Lady Prestor really was, only to be swarmed by a dozen elite dragon guards, Bolvar would wade in and happily kick every single one of their scaly black butts.Just having a faction leader show that "Yep, I may spend most of my days standing around in a throne room, but when push comes to shove I can throw down with the best of them" makes a big difference to how I view them.

Ehh. I'm not all that fond of Authority Equals Asskicking. On the other hand, it's better than having somebody who ended up in charge because they were good at kicking ass off screen be unable when the badness happens in front of the players.

Wallert's comment pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter regarding what the characters do and where they do it.I have no issue what-so-ever with the books. Afteral, it's impossible to see everything. We never saw the Exodar crash into Azeroth, we never saw the Blood Elves march to the Undercity to request partnership of the Horde, nor did we see these things in the books.Elements of The Shattering novel were added to the game, namely Thrall heading to Nagrand, and that's pretty much the only thing I would claim to be an issue. Every novel needs to have some manifestation in the game, but to forsake books and comics and god knows what else, just to put it into a game which, and I hate saying this, does not narrate very well without a "expensive" cinematic, well, it just seems blinkered to me.Major lore characters need to continue having detailed stories out of the game, but they need to continue working in game. ALL of the major lore characters were rubbish back in Vanilla. They did nothing, and it was an incredible disappointment. I didn't care about any of them until the Ahn'Qiraj short story appeared and I started to give a toss about Fandral, but why was he still static in game? Why didn't he have a presence in Silithis back when we were pushing the gates?Lore characters need to do something in game. Prove WHY they're considered *major*. It's probably the one thing I will always say that Wrath was good for.
