Archbishop Bennidictus is at least handled in-game somewhat. He gets an rp moment in the 5-man before his boss fight, and if you talk to an npc in the Cathedral, they explain that he has gone to Dragonblight to aid the fight against Deathwing. They even added in extra dialogue that becomes available after you finish the dungeon, where the npc refuses to believe that the Archbishop is a traitor, and mentions similar ridiculous rumors about Bolvar's fate...

You still miss out on all the "Twilight Father" stuff from the novel, but at least we get to see some of what happens and his defeat. Far better than "Welcome to Cataclsym! Your King is now diamonds!"
