Around Azeroth: I'm such a bore, I'm such a bore, I don't do anything anymore
No wonder Deathwing has been such a crank lately! The other aspects have trapped him in a pool of quicksand, and a bunch of raiders are trying to stomp on his left hand. All the black dragon wants to do is soak in his giant hot tub and practice playing his invisible piano -- but no, you and that silly orc had to interrupt him. Now the world must burn! (Thanks to Loronar of Dark Days on Eredar [US-A] for this eagle's eye picture of the Madness of Deathwing encounter!)

Yeah yeah, shouldn't be commenting before this is published, I don't care, this picture is AMAZING.

I agree with you completely- unbelievable picture, SSotD material. Does this actually take place during the Deathwing encounter?

@yous That is the final Deathwing encounter. Looks like that one is live seeing as though you can see an active hunter's mark in the upper rightish corner.

My guess would have been that this was taken with Mind Vision, I have a similar screenie from the BWD worm, but it's from a hunter. Anyone know *how* they got this?

This screenshot is right after Deathwing is summoned in the Madness of Deathwing encounter. On both sides of the four aspects' platforms, there are two very high cliffs. Point your hunter's Eagle Eye ability or your shaman's Far Sight ability at the tip of the cliff and turn the camera around. This will give you a nice view of the entire Maelstrom area.
Both of these abilities have unlimited range, so you can even point it to cliffs on the other side of the Maelstrom and see Deathwing's back side as well. Eagle Eye and Far Sight are only usable outdoor, so this is the perfect environment.

Great image Loronar!

I may be wrong but don't shaman have a far seeing talent and isn't there a giant pillar conveniently located right where this image is taken? Far seeing to the top of the pillar is probably what happened here if I had my guess.

Is anybody reminded of this when they see that picture? Strange bit of foreshadowing going on here...
