The only issue there is that the guild you tag along with might also have someone on the same stage of the quest as you.
This is a problem I'm having at the moment, being 93/250 on the final stage, with my guild not particularly interested in running Firelands any more. However, any attempts to join up with another guild's runs on the server are foiled due to many people being on the same stage as me.
