Not Sure if this is a glitch or not, has happened twice, but sometimes while in the water bubble thing he casts before the Aoe Wall sweeps over us - how I understand it, is while inside it shields us- instead fails to shield anything as if we were not inside. Mind You I play alliance... Coincidence, I think not! Or its just a glitch...
Skarn Dec 12th 2011 11:16PM
Uh. What are you talking about?
Hagara? SHE has no water shield that benefits the raid. If you stand in her bubble, you take damage and probably die.
GrandOldDuke Dec 12th 2011 11:32PM
I believe he's talking about Archbishop Benedictus.
Becca Dec 12th 2011 11:38PM
@Skarn: By the sounds of it, I think he's referring to the Archbishop Benedictus encounter, and the protective bubble Thrall creates.
Revynn Dec 12th 2011 11:39PM
Hes talking about Archbishop Benedictus in HoT. Thrall throws down a water shield you stand in to avoid the sweeping wall during light phase.
aelastain88 Dec 12th 2011 11:40PM
@ Skarn
He mean the Archbishop encounter.
@ face
Are u dps'ing him too fast? If he goes into 2nd phase when Thrall has the bubble up he'll disable Thrall and u'll lose the shield.
Hufflebunny Dec 12th 2011 11:42PM
Apologies for the double post, but your faction wouldn't have anything to do with the glitch you're experiencing. Thrall is now part of the Earthen Ring, so he is friendly to both factions.
Shrikesnest Dec 13th 2011 12:11AM
You could just have everybody run out of the way of the wall or - and this is even better - tank Benedictus on the far edge of the battlefield so that nobody has to stand in the way of the waves anyway. Did that on our last run and it was laughably easy.
Felix_NZ Dec 13th 2011 12:19AM
Huh, I've only done it once, and I never even saw a bubble. I thought you just had to get out of the way in the gap between the wave and the edge of the ring, similar to Sartharion.
Skarn Dec 13th 2011 2:06AM
Aaaah. I've only done the Hour of Twilight dungeon once. I barely remember what Benedictus does. XD
It is not like me to be ignorant. They totally sound similar though! Water bubbles, waves, etc. Must educate self!
Snuzzle Dec 13th 2011 9:19AM
Yeah, I always figured the Bubble was a bad thing put down by the boss and just ran away from the wall. It's really not all that hard...
sandslice Dec 13th 2011 12:01PM
As long as you don't run so far that you're hitting Twilight Sparks on the outside, it's very easy to avoid the waves by staying on the ring as ranged.
And yes, if you have just the right amount of DPS, it's possible to snap Benedictus into phase 2 while he has the light wave out, which will negate the water shield. If you have very high DPS, it's possible to get him to phase 2 before he can get the light wave out, and kill him before he can get the dark wave out.
Philster043 Dec 12th 2011 10:53PM
Nerfs already? I'd have thought they'd have waited a little bit longer...
GrandOldDuke Dec 12th 2011 11:12PM
Maybe they're sticking it to the LFR cheats, so they never get to see the encounters at their absolute hardest. No prestige for you! Not even a little bit!
razion Dec 12th 2011 11:23PM
I wouldn't call most of them nerfs so much as tweaks/bug fixes... There were also a buff or two among them. Just balance as per usual.
thedoctor2031 Dec 12th 2011 11:44PM
Yeah, I think this is just tweaking as normal. They often put small buffs and nerfs to encounters, especially 25 mans, in the first month or so.
SamLowry Dec 13th 2011 6:42AM
Agreed, Duke. I'm expecting to see tears of blood from the hardcore raiders because their heroics will no longer be quite so punishing.
Philster043 Dec 13th 2011 12:38PM
Hah, didn't mean to sound disparaging, if I did. First time I've ever been downvoted, I think. XD
Tweaks and balance, it's all good then.
razion Dec 12th 2011 11:25PM
Loving the Hour of Twilight fix. Now if only they could do something about the speed of Thrall's Ghost Wolf...
Tirrimas Dec 12th 2011 11:52PM
His humanoid running animation is distracting, IMO. Not used to my Orcs running like Draenei.
