Raid difficulty

In terms of storytelling and content accessibility, there isn't a real difficulty. The way we handled Ragnaros was kind of unique, but he's not the final boss of this expansion.
Your idea is quite contrary to our motivation for implementing multiple difficulties. We want as many people as possible to be able to experience the story, while still preserving many of the more prestigious rewards and achievements for those who complete Heroic difficulty.

Working on solution to LFR's loot issues
Having the LFR group size set at 25 allows for a more forgiving experience should errors be made by individual players - after all, we believe Raid Finder groups should be a fun way to experience raid content without feeling too punishing to new or inexperienced raiders.
In regards to the loot issues you mention, such as people winning the same item twice, we're working on a solution for this.

Ghostcrawler clarification
In regards to Ghostcrawler's recent blog Seeing the Forest for the Talent Trees, we'd just like to make a quick additional point about "bringing PvE and PvP closer"; When we say this, we're also talking about making the idea of having to collect separate gear for each less of an issue (like it became in Wrath of the Lich King). For those who are concerned about having to "grind" to get good enough PvP gear to even step into a Battleground, our intent is to make this less of an issue. We want PvE gear to be useful in PvP and vice versa, but neither should be quite as good as the other. You'll still be able to be viable either way. Meaning, if you want to go from your Raid into a Battleground for a bit, you won't necessarily need to swap gear, and if you go from PvP into a dungeon, people shouldn't get immediately incensed that you didn't change for the occasion.
While we would like to explore some options for adding more world PvP (because clearly many players keep asking for it) it would purely be optional. PvE players with no interest in PvP should be able to ignore it and vice versa. We just want to provide more opportunities for crossover (again for players who keep asking for it) than exist today.

"Want the REAL ending? Beat it on the REAL difficulty. Simple as that."
LOL. And if you are not a "heroic raider" beating any level is your "REAL" difficulty. These people make me laugh. If I get to see the content in LFR I will be as happy as a clam in mud.
RS Dec 13th 2011 12:27AM
With you on that!

"I don't like this, it might give part-time players the impression they're welcome in my game."
Good to see that attitude smacked down.
SamLowry Dec 13th 2011 6:36AM
Ut-oh, the heroic raids are getting nerfed today--prepare for QQ from hardcore raiders.
Hope they don't start slitting their wrists.
Thawed the Orc Dec 13th 2011 8:19AM
Yes indeed. I reread that joker's comment about locking out final cinematics only for Heroics. What the hell motivates people to even worry about something like that? Just damn.
Edymnion Dec 13th 2011 9:36AM
I would not shed a single tear if that prick got a suspension for unsportsmanlike behavior. Yeah, there is a problem with the game, and its people like him.
Sad thing is all "serious" raiding guilds I've seen are just FULL of people like him. Its why I've vowed never to join a raiding guild again, I simply cannot stand those people.
Noyou Dec 13th 2011 4:35AM
"people shouldn't get immediately incensed that you didn't change for the occasion."
The people who will get PO'd will get PO'd regardless how much PvP gear you have, short of a full current tier set. That's just what they do. My theory is make 2 tiers of PvP (not counting rated BGS). One for 0-2500/3000 resil, and one for over. They would have to use non equipped of course because you know people will try to get into the lower one.
noel mcleod Dec 13th 2011 9:02AM
I used to think that, but it's SO easy to get over 2.5K resil right now it's not really justified. I hit 85 with a new toon s-priest on Saturday and am running BGs no problem by Monday night (Sunday was pretty much cannon fodder, thank god for AV and IOC because ti was an Alliance toon).
Also, on my well-geared toon I find that all that happens is I become a magnet for the well-geared toons from the opposing faction (then again, if THEY have someone with high survivability I make a point of taking them out of play, so ...).
PvP is currently much better than it has been at any time since Cata started.
It would be nice if Blizz fixed some of the geography disparity though, having played the SAME toon on over 50 AV's from each side (faction-changed) I don't understand how Horde EVER wins in AV. That BG is sadly, sadly broken. Ten people who know what they're doing can guarantee an Alliance win every time, usually need less than five.

Here is a crazy idea: remove resilience from pvp gear (but keep pvp gear as a whole aesthetically different from pve gear). Give each character an inbuilt amount as default (something they're going to do in MoP) that automatically gives you x damage reduction against crits etc as it does now, and then allow people to gem or enchant for it, but otherwise keep it off gear. That way pvp gear = pve gear and vice versa.
Noyou Dec 13th 2011 9:24AM
I would be all for that. So would my alts. I don't think it's a crazy idea at all, but then again I have some crazy ideas about gear.
Edymnion Dec 13th 2011 9:42AM
Just get rid of resilience altogether. Players do too much damage compared to the healthpools? Then just make a blanket X% reduction to damage from other players and their pets standard.
My shield is strong enough to stop a direct hit from Frostmourn, my armor thick enough to protect me from the fires of Deathwing himself, but they can't keep me alive against one lousy gnome rogue?
Resilience is the patch on a broken system. Don't just keep making bigger bandaids, fix the underlying problem.
techvoodooguy Dec 13th 2011 9:51AM
Agreed!
Resilience is in no way a fun stat. Once you have it you feel like crap when you lose it, when you don't have it you feel like crap for not having it. I have toons at both ends of the spectrum right now.
hwacha Dec 13th 2011 9:59AM
The problem with this becomes apparent when you take one player that tanks raids for their guild, but absolutely hates being fc in a bg. That player is now pretty much relegated to fc because they don't have gear to dps, since their MS in raids is prot. Since a boss can only be downed once per week, they will be way behind MS dps raiders in pvp.
As it is currently, I can build both sets together and play what I want to.
noel mcleod Dec 13th 2011 9:06AM
On my PvP toons, I have two gear sets (or more). Equipment manager works fine, occasionally I forget to switch and tank an instance in PvP or die rapidly in a BG in PvE (lol, that one's easier to figure out).
I've had people ask if I forgot to switch, usually they're polite.
