Battle.net undergoing emergency maintenance

Daxxari announces urgent Battle.net maintenanceWe will be performing an urgent maintenance on Battle.net which may prevent players from logging into the system. Players who are currently logged in should be able to continue to play normally.
We expect this downtime to begin at 2:30 p.m. PST and end at approximately 4:30 p.m. PST. Thank you for your patience while we improve the Battle.net system.
Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Review the official patch notes, and then dig into what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

The Breaking News on the launcher indicates 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. PST. Is this an error on the launcher or on the forums post?

Was thinking at first this might be an imminent security-related downtime, but I'm just spitballing... wonder if it could be in any way related to the Battle.net API changes they announced earlier today? You'd think they would have done that during a scheduled maintenance period, but maybe something came about with that announcement that they had to hotfix?

I dunno about anyone else, but Battle.net went down for me last night at about 9ish and did not come back up for the duration of my time on WoW, about two hours.
