I've always found in game holidays tacky and don't really take part in them, they don't feel part of the world to me. Winter Veil does give me nostalgia however for when the game came out back in 2004, and how it seemed the winter veil lights were up for like, months before a patch took them away.

I always thought in game holidays were a nice break from the grind. I also think they supplement my own enjoyment of RL holidays. Especially winter veil. I'm not sure what is tacky about them. People selling holiday stuff for large sums of gold, maybe. But the holidays themselves have been nothing but fun.

not a patch... the person who decorated was lazy and was going to leave them up all year until his wife complained.
