Stupid wrapping paper is -not- available in Stormwind. Look at that vendor list. Where do the Alliance have to go for wrapping paper? Freakin Westfall (for blue) and Goldshire. I know I can fly there in like, five seconds these days, but Im a vanilla player...running to Westfall is out of the way, and really, who -really- wants to go there when there's hobos all over and the place may be on fire. I wrote a forum post about this, actually, because I occasionally like to playfully rant in a tongue in cheek way (and am not serious at all though I do find it playfully boggling, and play both sides so no faction bias really).I figure the Goblins must have some secret wrapping paper factory and the Gnomes refuse to make something Goblins make, because wrapping paper is apparently like, some alien invention or something, and you can't get it in Ironforge either (but Karanos is okay because the Gnomes are too busy with their...Gnome stuff..). You can get it -all over the place- in Draenei areas, and Darnassus because the Draenei like the Night Elves. You could get wrapping paper in Gilneas, because it's important to be able to wrap something while your nation is under attack and you're fleeing for your lives and it's super sophisticated and victorianesque I guess. Which is probably why if you're Forsaken you can buy wrapping paper at the -Ruins of Gilneas-, because that makes so much sense.Horde sells wrapping paper at a pretty convenient place, namely virtually -every single main city-, but Alliance have to go to Night Elf or Draenei land or even to an alien world to buy it in a main city, because I guess the Naaru are super approving of sharing their alien technology of being able to wrap something into a shiny little package.(And while I'm on a crusade to have the Stormwind vendors increase the range of their stock, I mean they've got Etherials around now, it should be easy!, they should pick up a fish and meat vendor too, because all you can get in Stormwind if you so choose to eat something or feed your hunter pet are cheese and bread and apples.)

That doesn't help when you're wanting to wrap something any other time of the year! There are birthdays and things, and I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to be online this christmas, so I wanted to get my girlfriend her presents early. I feel silly about it, but my bank alt now has a stack of all the colors in her inventory. :P

If having immediate access to wrapping paper is #1 on your list, set your hearth to Goldshire or one of the many places that sells it. Like you said, it's a 5 second flight to SW. Hunters don't need to feed their pets anymore. Just thought I would add that. Hate to break up your crusade to add more vendors. We do need more mailboxes in Ironforge though, if you want to wave that flag. Could use a good pub there too.

Oh, hunters don't -need- to feed their pet anymore, but have you tried the remodeled 'feed pet' skill? If you have level appropriate food and toss a piece at your pet after a rough fight, insta heal. Mend Pet is good and fine for while in a fight, it's still a decent HoT, but Feed Pet immediately after combat gets your pet back to full faster than you can heal yourself. I find it very handy, very useful, and I really like the design change. As I said, it was all tongue in cheek. I just find it amusing in an exasperating sort of way that with all the streamlining the game has gotten over the years and especially within this expansion, that the city they want us to stay in constantly now doesn't have the same amenities as Orgrimmar, like whoever was redesigning it overlooked that a little. It would be thematic, and awesome, to have some Night Elves and Draenei in those handy looking little tents at the docks selling 'exotic' wares (Fish for Darnassus, wrapping paper for the Exodar!) and an added vendor or two in the Dwarven district selling imported meats from Ironforge. Want Stormwind to be the center of the Alliance? Make it so you can literally get everything there, just like the Orcs have done with their capital city.
