The Queue: Setting sail, coming home
Quick reminder that Bastion has new DLC and is available to play in your Chrome browser window.
Hal asked:
Is the Silver Hand still around? There was a disagreement about this in the KYL article yesterday.
Nope, it was officially rolled into the Argent Crusade, along with the Argent Dawn. Note that argent is another word for silver (as an adjective).
Ziis asked:
what happened to the new level 80 armor sets that blizzard talked about for fresh level 80s
Blizzard never said word one about them. The level 80 armor "sets" were discovered in the game files some time ago and as of right now, nothing has been done with them. Remember that it took a year or so for the Celestial Dragon pet to be added to the game proper after it was discovered in the game files.
Scott asked:
Has anyone else noticed that the server selection screen shows most of the "low" population servers as PvP realms?
Players are generally less interested in PvP servers, especially at this point in the game's life. PvE servers are just more popular. Less threat of death while wandering the world, less chance to be inconvenienced while just trying to do your dailies ... I don't blame anybody for picking PvE.
Eddie asked:
Back from a break. In a random if a boe drops and you need it does it auto soul bound on you? Some boots dropped and I needed then a pair dropped from a boss. I was going to have the group roll for the first pair but they were sb.
Yep, if you roll need on an item in a group, it binds to you (if possible). This is a new mechanic designed to curb ninja rolls.
Joshua Kavanagh asked:
I just finished the Woflheart audiobook. Without giving anything away; has Maiev made a return in game since the book's events/timeline?
No.

Since y'all liked the baby not-a-giraffe from earlier in the week, I thought I'd share this:
http://dalesdesigns.net/BA1.htm
It's the baby animal alphabet. (I didn't even know there was an animal whose name started with the letter X !)
Throck Dec 16th 2011 12:38PM
Needs more baby isopods: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/05/photogalleries/antarctica-new-species/images/primary/crustacean-picture.jpg
Regarding animals and their names, if you use genus names (such as Xenoglaux and Xenops), every letter has lots of examples.

That reminds me... I would make it a Q4theQ, but I guess only some Blizzard artist can answer...
Why is the Giant isopod (http://www.wowhead.com/npc=48800) in Vash'ir a cockroach, with the flying animation and all? I was so excited to see the label when questing there, and so disappointed when I saw what they tried to pass as one of the coolest creatures ever! I would have thought that if they got one critter correct it would be that one, as Ghostcrawler talked about it once.
It just annoys me to no end when that stupid isopod wannabe flies away... in water.

How should I put this.
If they reuse models for raid bosses, they won't make a custom model for a joke critter.

A question.
Winter Lager or Christmas Ale?
kingoomieiii Dec 16th 2011 11:12AM
Apple Cider. Hot.
Sainthubbins Dec 16th 2011 11:20AM
That's far too vague a question. But in any case, my vote for best winter seasonal beer is Bell's winter white ale.
Noyou Dec 16th 2011 11:24AM
Blue Moon Winter Abbey Ale. Sam Adams winter brew is not bad either.
aelders5124 Dec 16th 2011 11:25AM
Pyramid bbreweries snow cap
Caz Dec 16th 2011 11:33AM
New Belgium's 2 Below Winter Ale, brewed just outside of Denver in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Or whatever seasonal beer is brewed clsoest to where you live. Local craft beer for-the-win!
David Brady Dec 16th 2011 11:35AM
How about a nice porter?
Caz Dec 16th 2011 11:42AM
@ David - Porters are amazing! I have yet to see or try a good Christmas themed porter, though. I don't think the flavor profile of porter (or stout for that matter) is well suited to traditional Christmas flavors, but I'm waiting for one of the more than 120 breweries in Colorado to prove me wrong.
Doug Dec 16th 2011 11:51AM
Snow Cap Ale from Pyramid is tasty, but my favorite is Jubelale from Deschutes Brewery.
Kadzeroth Dec 16th 2011 11:46AM
Sam Adam's Winter Lager (never Blue Moon, that stuff makes everything your fault). :D
Noselacri Dec 16th 2011 11:53AM
Rum.
Tirrimas Dec 16th 2011 12:51PM
Apple cider, hot, with a splash of rum and a sprinkling of ground cloves and nutmeg.
mord Dec 16th 2011 1:16PM
Ditto on jubelale. My favorite though is Brrr from Widmer Brothers.
Adam Dec 16th 2011 1:32PM
Tea.
Earl Grey.
Hot.
Muse Dec 16th 2011 3:02PM
Julmust.
Pyromelter Dec 16th 2011 3:03PM
Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
