OOM is the mantra chanted by holy priests and resto druids/shamans. They all sit together in the lotus position around a lightwell and drone, "Oooooommmmmmm" to help raise their spirits and the awareness of those around them otherwise engaged in combat that all is not lost...if you just wait a few moments to ponder WHY you are seeking to extinguish another life force, and whether doing so will make you a better person within the universe.
Failure to give the priest/druid/shaman ample time to engage in such meditative practices will often result in your having to wait patiently for the combat to finish, and then (and only then) have your soul reunited with your war-torn body so you may once again charge, heedless and single-minded, into yet another contest.
It's all very spiritual.
