Damn it, not even an honourable mention. That does it. Next year, it's *on*.

Guess I gotta step my game up for next year. Congrats to the winners! Can't wait to read the winning entries!

Of course, you know this means war(craft). :D
Grats to all those who won and were recognized!! Maybe I can learn something from the other writers if/when their entries are released. Till then, gonna have to think of... something... to write about... -ponders-

Very curious to read these stories.
A pity my english is not my native language because I have some very good ideas.
I bet these writings are on par with so called pro writing in the past.
Sad Metzen never continued because I liked his Of blood and honour.

"Of Blood and Honor" is one of my favorites. Really goes to show that the Horde and Alliance aren't as different as folks might want to insist they are.

I'm not a writer, but I appreciate good fan fiction. I've read some (like last year's winners) that're better than the official Warcraft novels. (Guess which ones.)
I'm looking forward to reading the winning entries. I would enjoy seeing what you Insider readers wrote, even if you didn't win. Please share, unless you're saving the story for resubmission. ;)

Damn. Guess that means next year I'll have to not write my story in the space of one day. (To be fair, my computer was in the shop.) Grats to the winners.

Mhmm didn't know there was a writing contest.
Urza Dec 20th 2011 8:16AM
I was looking forward to winning, my story about a gnome and his coming of age story didn't make the cut I guess.
Anne, do you know what the rules are on posting your unsuccessful story online etc?
Anne Stickney Dec 20th 2011 2:36PM
I just double-checked with a contact to make absolutely sure -- yes, you can post your story online if you did not win. HOWEVER, you can not use it to directly generate revenue. Blizzard technically owns the pieces, but they don't have a problem with people posting them in portfolios or on blogs or websites, as long as people aren't being charged to read it, or you're otherwise making revenue from it. So feel free, as long as you keep it free!

Thanks Anne, doubt anybody wants to read it but ye never know eh!
