After more than three weeks of intense strategizing, planning, fighting,
scandals, and more, the race to world-first heroic Madness of Deathwing kill is over. KIN Raiders, the group that swept by
Paragon, Blood Legion, and the rest, for the world-first heroic Spine of Deathwing kill took their time advantage and
pressed on. Only one other guild, the Korean team In extremis, has downed the Spine of Deathwing on heroic mode, so not many people were even currently working on the fight of the instance.
KIN Raider's kill happened in 25-man mode, an interesting departure from many of the world firsts now happening in 10-mans after being forced to raid light when raiders were
banned for exploiting the Raid Finder for extra loot. Blood Legion also rounded out the list with many top kills on 25-man mode, but in the end, it was a 25-man Korean guild that swooped in and took the top spot.
Congratulations to KIN Raiders on their first kill of heroic Madness of Deathwing.
Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Review the official patch notes, and then dig into what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

DREAM Paragon. Guess they are still sleeping.
jacksworth Dec 20th 2011 7:02PM
People at that level were full BiS t12 anyway. I know as a casual prot warrior, I was only missing a ring, trinket and the shield from being full BiS during FL

Grats to them but I'm sure the extra lockouts had nothing to do with it... double the amount of gear in less time? =/
It's still a hard fight and they are still awesome for doing it, but i'm a little irked by that.
Strahotski Dec 20th 2011 10:42AM
They did NOT have extra lockouts. That only applied to Firelands, not Dragon Soul.
Just being clear. :)
Caylynn Dec 20th 2011 10:43AM
Indeed. Even if they only had two lockouts per week for Firelands, that still meant a lot more heroic Firelands gear for all their raiders, and a lot more legendaries for their casters.
Seraph Dec 20th 2011 10:49AM
KIN has fewer legendaries in this kill than Blood Legion has access to (19).
While you may have a point about Heroic FL gear, this guild also got the World 10th H Ragnaros kill. They've had plenty of time to gear up either way.
Point is, stop trying to find ways to delegitimize the kill and just congratulate the team that won the race.

"I'm sure the extra lockouts had nothing to do with it... double the amount of gear in less time? =/"
No.
Yes they had the "extra lockouts" but that didnt enable them to aquire extra loot. This is because they accessed the content later. You can visit there amories for kill numbers and compare them to other top guilds such as Paragon, Blood Legion etc.
Also, even if they got "extra" loot this wouldnt give them an advantage against other top guilds (in regards to legendaries). Top guilds already have every caster equipped with there legendary.
(A guild might be able to acquire "40 legendary's" but they can only bring a certain amount to a raid with them, hence it's capped.)

I did congratulate them and apologized (thought I mis-replied to my own thread). I'd been a while since I read that blizzard was changing the lockouts for those countries and they were very vague in the original post about how it was being applied. I had, incorrectly, assumed that it was for all the lock outs, including DS.
Seraph Dec 20th 2011 10:41AM
Incoming posts containing misinformation about Korea having double lockouts for Dragon Soul (they only had those with Firelands).
Seraph Dec 20th 2011 10:41AM
Aaand beaten to the punch by allison.lins.
Caylynn Dec 20th 2011 10:45AM
They still had the extra lockouts for Firelands, which means more legendaries for their casters, and more heroic Firelands gear. I'm sure that helped some.
Andre Dec 20th 2011 11:50AM
@Caylynn
Except it didn't help at all. Paragon and other top guilds have all of their casters with legendaries (that includes all alts; I believe they have 28 legendaries in the guild). All their raiders are also in full heroic FL gear, including any alts they might want to switch in. Korea having two lock outs just evened out the playing field because Korea got the patch later.

Grtz to the pros.
And now the PvP season ...
Oops the top PvP is ... all Korean already :((((
allison.lins Dec 20th 2011 10:45AM
Ah, then in my noobness, I apologize. I though that Blizzard had made ALL the lockouts for those servers like that.
RS Dec 20th 2011 10:50AM
Congrats to them!
I saw Paragon's site today saying they were 6/8 . Wondering how much the bans hurt them.
I'm just happy for the LFR, I at least got to see the content. (and help a little, mighty little)
vincentmagius Dec 20th 2011 11:41AM
I think they were only banned for a week. So, if accounting for the ban they can do it in fewer days, they are still the better team. They will also have to live with the fact they lost the world first because they knowingly exploited.
Shinae Dec 20th 2011 10:50AM
I wonder how to say grats in Korean. Those guys are hardcore.
bigmikeylaakso Dec 20th 2011 11:06AM
Take it with a grain of salt, but Google Translate says 축하합니다 (chughahabnida).
Seraph Dec 20th 2011 10:51AM
Good job keeping racism out of it. Did you see the Russian guild on Race to World First that was raiding 20 hours a day? Or have you heard the lengths some of the European and even US guilds go to to get first kills?
Every team at the top has an extraordinary dedication to being the best at this game. It doesn't discriminate on racial lines.
