I agree completely with this article. Tyrande was such an amazing character in Warcraft III, being very much an in-your-face type of person who didn't take no for an answer. When Malfurion is there, she's just there... and that's about it.
She needs her time in the spotlight again.

It's interesting that's how she's ended up, isn't it? Basically just arm candy for Malfurion, when back in wc3 she was more than happy to disagree with him, and flat out do things he forbade. Where did that strength go?

Hell yeah, she was a total badass in WC3 (even though the nelfs were sooo annoying as cpu opponents). Bring back old Tyrande.

So excuse my noobness, but The Cows have a druid leader that was suppose to represent them in moonglade and the nelfs had the guy who will eventually become the villain (frandalf)... now the cows still have representation but the alliance does not? our representation is now a neutral leader? Come on! Nelfs created the class!!!!
When I heard that malfurion was making a comeback (my main had been a druid for the longest) I was sooo happy and then I heard that he was going to be a neutral leader... It made no sense... now we have even less representation in moonglade because all the decisions will be made by a Tauren (you got to love them!) that represents the horde and a neutral leader? My facts may be wrong, but I will log in tonight and double check the who is the druid leader in Darnassus. I hope that I am wrong...

@AROD
Why is it that just bc Hamuul is Tauren he is Horde, but Malfurion is a NE and is Neutral. My understanding is that Archdruids are highest ranking of their race. There should be a Worgen and Troll Archdruid as well. Hamuul has done as much for the Horde as Malfurion has done for the Alliance so either both are Neutral or they fall under their races faction.

She does indeed. Although reading that article again...do I detect the author, having a little crush on her?
The whole 'sending Malfurion away' bit, would make it seem that way. ^_^

I couldn't agree more with the article. However my utterly similar sense of this problem is why I finally gave up and unsubscribed. YEARS of the fans' complaints have given us 'Hush, Tyrande'. We knew this was a problem with the first night elf book Knaak published. We KNEW it was a problem. We knew it in Cataclysm Beta, and with that dog's breakfast of a short story they even had to CHANGE into being one about Tyrande and 'Mal'.. we were confirmed in our horror.
And you know what? All of our protests, our well thought out logic and our 'wtf' has given us very little. 'Mal' keeps sitting on his hands lecturing grieving people about the triviality of their loss. He stands game mechanicly neutral in Darnassus. He overshadows Tyrande, his 'wife', again and again and again, and dismisses everything about her that made her amazing once.
And the writers and developers are the ones who make this happen. They don't hear their fans in the least. I got angry enough at this to votr with my wallet. And I firmly believe that until a significant portion of us do the same in outright protest at what they've done to a story we all loved, it ain't budging.
