The only woman I know of that has any sway in the world of Azeroth is Christie Golden, and one could argue that she doesn't really create anything substantial, but just presents Metzen's and Blizzard's stories in a very pleasing way.

I think it would be a really good thing if Metzen got Golden on board to write some actual in-game stuff and maybe became an advocate for some of the things that Alex stated in the above article.
