It is in the best interests of the Horde players that the Alliance gets to shine and have something more than just a constant parade of setbacks and losses; that way they have characters to hate instead of caricatures and they feel like they could actually *lose*. At present, the war is like a heavyweight boxer fighting a malnourished child--victory after victory for the Horde is only going to bring up two questions:1) Why haven't the Alliance been wiped out yet?2) How were they ever considered a threat? If the answer to either is "game mechanics", then that is a story failure.
