Breakfast Topic: What's the most useless ability in World of Warcraft?

So what are these abilities or spells for your class? I have a candidate for nomination, and that's the shaman weapon imbue Rockbiter Weapon. I can't imagine any situation where I'd want to generate huge amounts of threat as a shaman. Perhaps this is a leftover from when shamans could sort of tank back in the day? I honestly can't think of any other ability in the game that's quite so useless as that, but of course I haven't played every class, and there may be one out there.
What are your nominations? I'm not inviting class-specific QQ for so-called broken abilities; I really only want to know about things that just haven't a use in game. What can top Rockbiter Weapon in the most useless ability charts?

The Warrior Ability Strike, which exists solely to give them another button to push until they get Heroic Strike, at level 12.

Primal strike called. It also is lonely in the p tab of leveling buttons that are never pushed, and wants to hang out and play.

As does feral druid ability Claw. Only time I end up using it is when I'm healing a battleground and want to build up to a good stun. (Mangle replaces Claw, but only for feral spec.)

As long as we're talking about filler abilities, lets not forget Blood Strike for death knights. For Blood dks, its a filler until we get Heart Strike. For Frost, we basically use Death Strike until we get Obliterate, since Blood of the North replaces our blood runes with death runes. Unfortunately for Unholy, they have to keep it in their action bar until 64 when they get Festering Strike. No one wants to use Blood Strike, and during end game, no one ever does.

Actually, Strike and Heroic Strike do not share a CD. Rather, Strike is a button to press until the Warrior gets to level 10 and gain their spec-specific abilities - at least for my warrior, where Bloodthirst and Strike shared a CD.

LOL I didn't even have to finish reading this article before I yelled out "Claw!" for feral druids.
People at work are looking at me funny... gotta run. lol

I would have to say eye of kilrogg for locks. And hawk eye for hunters .
Oz Dec 22nd 2011 8:07AM
Actually i find that hawk eye does have its uses. I've recently used it to find out how many hordies are defending the capture points in the Eye of the Storm battleground. Plus its fun to get on top of Stormwind Keep and spy on the people going about their business ^_^

I was helping a lower level guildie complete one of the holiday achievements and used Hawkeye to peep around corners and scope out which area was least likely to attract the most mobs. I also found it useful in trying to track down roving NPC's required for quest completion.

Along those same lines would be Mind Vision from priests.
However, I do remember back in the old days of WoW when we would use Eye of Kilrogg to skip trash and pull bosses to us. Anyone else remember that trick (or exploit?) for the original Bird boss in ZA? It was used to skip the gauntlet.

Hawkeye et al is really useful in BGs.

I use Mind Vision to help people navigate dungeons when catching up/running back in. I know people who use it to scout ahead in instances, as well. So those abilities have some uses.
I do mostly use Mind Vision in RP, it makes a handy Shadow channeling spell.

I use Eagle Eye on my hunter quite a bit, actually. It's great for camping rare spawn pets that show up in multiple places.
Eye of Kilrogg was going to be my suggestion, though. I think in the last three years I've used it for something other than appeasing boredom during raids . . . Twice?
Shannon Dec 22nd 2011 9:34AM
Those spells are very handy for scouting in PvP.
Tovin Dec 22nd 2011 9:55AM
And don't forget that they're handy (along with the Shaman's Farsight ability) when it comes to taking 3rd person POV screenshots of your character or group.

I use the eye on my lock and mind vision on my priest. Sure it does nothing for DPS or heals. You can use both in PvP or when you are hanging out in a city. Sometimes I will sit by the FP in a city and cast it on outgoing people to see how far it will hold up. There is a glyph for the eye where it allows flight where applicable. I never tried that out but that could be fun. I didn't have a lot of toys when I was little so I guess I am more easily amused :P

Actually I find odd and VERY convenient uses for Mind Vision sometimes, you just have to remember that you have it. For Winter Veil I had my Draenei priest sit on a rock above Org and chain Mind-Vision off the guards, then players, then spied on the people in front of the Org AH until I could find a Blood Elf Lock (the last race/class I needed for the snowball achieve). I eventually found a lowbie who conveniently ran out out of the crowd so I could swoop in and nail her (with a snowball, you morons).
I also used it a lot when I was farming for Netherwing rep, I could use Mind Vision on all the NPCs in that cave area where the eggs spawn to see if it was worth my time running in there.

I used Hawk Eye tons of times in the Molten Front to scout for the rares because there's one spot where you can see every spawn point with the ability. I also use it in PvP to tell my teammates where there are weak points in the enemy's defense.
Bapo Dec 22nd 2011 1:04PM
On my lowbie priest, I normally end up using mind vision on the efc to see where they are and relay the info to my team.

You want to know what ability I MISS?
Divine intervention.
RIP buddy ;_;
