Breakfast Topic: Happy Festivus from WoW Insider

Now, I'm not one for doing an Airing of Grievances in public; that'll be done tonight around the Festivus pole. But I do think we can talk about Feats of Strengths -- after all, there have been some pretty awesome ones that've come up in WoW in recent years.
I think perhaps the best Feat of Strength of all time goes to Insane in the Membrane, because if you get that, then you're really probably nuts and could find yourself dancing around the Festivus Pole (or you're really awesome and I'm just jealous).
A close runner-up is the Scarab Lord Feat of Strength. The mount is amazing, and the title that goes along with it has to be one of the most unique things you can have in all of WoW. And since one a handful of people have this, most of us will just have to settle for the Why? Because It's Red Feat of Strength.
Happy Festivus from WoW Insider! What of your Feats of Strength are you most proud of?

Did Somebody Order A Knuckle Sandwich?
My most beloved Feat. Spent ages on that achievement!
Revnah Dec 23rd 2011 8:07AM
Haha, I can't believe you posted the same thing AND beat me to it! :-D

#winning =p
It is an awesome achievement though! Glad I managed to get it before the made it a Feat!

I got that on my priest, it took forever. In WotLK, after my groups really outleveled the heroics, I started running them without a weapon and spent most of the instance punching mobs and throwing out Renews. Heroic VH was the best one for this.
DeathPaladin Dec 23rd 2011 8:48AM
My Death Knight got it while punching undead Paladins in Icecrown.
True Fact: Unarmed was also his 4th maxed weapon skill, so I got Master of Arms at the same time.

Yeah, that was a big one for me, too. It wasn't so bad on my warrior, since I'd always made sure to spend some time working on weapon skills as I leveled him.
My hunter, though...ugh. I spent ages beating on mobs near Shatt during some free time before raiding.
"What're you doing in Terrokar?"
"Punching basislisks"

This is mine too.
I punched many a hellboar in Hellfire Peninsula to get this.
Morgatho Dec 23rd 2011 11:28AM
I got this on my pally tank via punching the big thadius guy in Zul'Drak, killed him about 4 times in the posses, also got Master of Arms at the same time.

Same here on my hunter! It seemed to take forever and was a weird-good break from being ranged. I was kinda indifferent about it until I had heard that it was going away and the achievement would turn into a feat of strength.

I got "Did Somebody Order A Knuckle Sandwich" on both my Holy priest and my bear Druid. I used the Dire Maul cheat because I honestly couldn't be bothered to watch my toons do nothing but punch for hours. I started them off naked with a white-quality vendor weapon then went to bed.
Next morning the weapon was broken and almost completely leveled up, along with my unarmed combat skill. Lather, rinse, repeat for the other weapon skills all the way to Master of Arms on both characters! I believe I did this either at the end of TBC or the start of Wrath (can't remember and can't look it up at the moment).
I heard that a subsequent patch made it so that the immortal Dire Maul and Blasted Lands mobs no longer allowed players to complete the achievement. I don't know if I would have ever done the Feat without those. I can't see myself having the patience to sit and watch my tank and healer slowly level all their weapon skills and unarmed skills from scratch!

The one I'm most proud of is "Did Someone Order a Knuckle Sandwich?" (levelling unarmed combat to 400) on my old Alliance main, and that's not because of the achievement itself but because she is a FERAL DRUID. It took forever and a day and she was taking silly damage from the mobs, and had to constantly heal herself with the few k of mana a feral druid has... It was really painful and I'm so glad I got it done before Cata hit :-)
eirinefrostblade Dec 23rd 2011 8:22AM
I have that on my hunter... And let me tell you, it was painful, since you had to melee... as a hunter. It's unnatural, but the experience was entertaining.
Revnah Dec 23rd 2011 8:33AM
I have it on my hunter too, and I agree it's painful, but at least she wears mail and her pet could help... And speaking of unnatural, talk about a feral druid in caster form, uuuugh! Hehe.
But yeah, that achievement in general was the WoW equivalent of a double root canal without anaesthetics :-D

Ahahahaha!! I remember meleeing-- as a hunter-- without my polearm equipped in, I think, Heroic Utgarde Pinnacle so I could get my Knuckle Sandwich achievement. I'd spent the night before punching elementals in Storm Peaks and got to 397 or something like that. At first, my guildmates didn't know what the hell I was doing. But mobs were dying and all that. We never wiped. And they didn't say anything about it... Until the achievement popped and the lightbulb went off.
The look my husband gave me was, to put it lightly, venomous. I think his exact word(s) was, "Really?"
Shoikler Dec 23rd 2011 9:34AM
I got it on my hunter (pictured, at left) running around punching stuff in Icecrown. After I got him to 80, I spent some time maxing every weapon skill available to him, which meant a lot of meleeing. I later did the same on my paladin. I know that at some point I was going for "Knuckle" on my warlock, but it doesn't look like I ever got it.
Noyou Dec 23rd 2011 10:49AM
That is one of my favorite achievements. So much I got it on 3-4 toons before it went away. I always seemed to be stuck on 395-399 for the longest time. I had a favorite area to work things out- the hinterlands. Going all chuck norris on some trolls. They still tremble when my gryphon touches down on Aerie peak :p

"Did Someone Order a Knuckle Sandwich?" has to be my favorite Feat of Strength and it was a brutal grind on my warlock :D
Yvl Dec 23rd 2011 8:12AM
A Brew-FAST mount.
Because our mage wanted it so much more than I did, and she never got it.
Eros Dec 23rd 2011 8:19AM
Festivus for the rest of us! Swift Flight Form would be mine. For a lowly guild less druid pulling together a successful pug group for setheck halls, on a low pop server, at end of BC, was a feat in it of its self.
Swifteye Dec 23rd 2011 8:23AM
I'm not much one for Feats of Strength... I just logged on to check if I even had any other than the "WoW's __ Anniversary" ones, since I didn't specifically work for any.
The only non-anniversary one I have turns out to be "A Brew-FAST Mount"... and to be honest, I'm not proud of it at all, merely irked to look at it.
You see, looking up this FoS reminded me that I got it by finding a Kodo in my keg... and all I wanted was the Ram. Meanwhile almost every single one of my guildies got a Ram, when the vast majority of them wanted the Kodo, didn't get it and were jealous of mine (that I detest and don't even use)!
RNG, you have a twisted sense of humor sometimes....... /shakefist
