The Queue: Shoulder on

Anybody remember Orc Shouldergate? I was a GM at the time, and I can confirm that literally nobody ever shut up about those orc shoulders.
Major Buzzkill asked:
Has Blizz said anything about making the Therazane shoulder enchants BoA? I know this has been asked before, but I've yet to see a definitive answer from a Blue. I'd love the enchants for alts, but have little interest in grinding it again.
Unfortunately, no, Blizzard hasn't said a single thing confirming that it's making those enchants BoA. I wish it would, though, because at this point in the expansion's lifespan, the odds of my going through Therazane's entire quest line again are pretty much nil. It seems odd that the change hasn't already been made. I just know it makes me sad to look at my alt's unenchanted Dragon Soul shoulders.
Vacasta asked:
Hey, any chance [1. Local] will ever come back? Highlights of the community's comments are just plain awesome.
We don't currently have plans to bring back [1. Local], but you never know.
Welldead asked:
are frost dk's top dps compared to other dps class in Dragon soul? (i.e. rogue, hunter, mage, shaman?)
Commenter Pyromelter (speaking of good comments) has you covered:
wowsitemail asked:A quick review of the 25man normal Dragon Soul raid numbers on world of logs is showing combat Rogues and Fire Mages as the top performers so far in 4.3. Withoug parsing huge amounts of numbers, it looks like both unholy and frost DK's are holding up fairly well, and if I'm looking at all the numbers right, I'd say that unholy is doing slightly better on single-target fights (ultraxion), and frost is slightly better on aoe fights (spine of deathwing).
Others doing well on single target: both warrior specs, shadow priests, moonkin, elemental and enhance shaman, arcane mages, all 3 warlock specs.
If you look in the Greench's cave, to the left of the tree there's a wind-up clockwork dog. Is that model available anywhere as a pet or toy? Has it always been in the game, or is it a sign of things to come?
It's new for this patch, and it isn't yet available as an item, though I certainly wish it were! I love corgis, especially the big, fat, stupid corgi currently sitting on my couch snoring with a marrow bone still in his mouth.
Revynn asked:
Ive been gathering the Ornate Weapon, Monstrous Egg, etc quest items for when the DMF comes back into town (not buying them, but just grabbing them when they drop off a boss and holding on to them instead of putting them on the AH) and have ended up with a couple duplicates. I think at this point I have 2 Monstrous Eggs, 3 Ornate Weapons and 2 Crystals.
Are these turn ins repeatable? Monthly? Or should I get rid of duplicate drops?
They're able to be turned in once per Faire session, so functionally once per month. If you have a duplicate, sell it! You'll undoubtedly find another one when the next Faire comes to town.

What are some good scifi non fantasy games out there. Anything rpg ish or wow like, mmo and non mmo, maybe something on par w/ skyrim. I need to try something with a different flavor for awhile so as the fantasy genre doesn't grow old

Dude. Try Runescape, the quality of the game is phenomenal and it will blow your mind.
Dont actually, haha, if you want an incredible game go try the mass effect series, that are by far the best games ive ever played.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is incredible, if you can afford the sixty dollar startup cost.
Narayana Dec 23rd 2011 11:13AM
You mean like Star Wars: The Old Republic?
Revynn Dec 23rd 2011 11:20AM
Well, there's always SWTOR. Very RPG like in that there's a heavy focus on questing and story telling. It's still new so if you want to avoid the price tag or early launch issues, you could play the original single player games for XBox or PC. They cant be more than $10 or $20 on Steam these days. Knights of the Old Republic is still one of my favorite gaming experiences in my life, and I've been playing all manner of games for over 20 years now.

The original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game from Bioware is actually pretty amazing and has held up well. I got it for a couple bucks on Steam during one of their sales, but I imagine it's pretty cheap even at its base these days.

Sci-Fi, non-fantasy games in the vein of Skyrim...
Mass Effect, Deus Ex for your pseudo-Elder Scrolls types.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (an oldie, but a goodie) if you haven't played through it is a great game, though not quite the same vein as Skyrim.

Damn, Knights of the Old Republic.....now that was a fun game. Time to fire it up while waiting for my TOR copy to reach me. I didn't like the sequel though, it seemed like a very rushed product with not much polish.
Drakkenfyre Dec 23rd 2011 11:56AM
Mass Effect.
The sequel had some of the RPG-like elements removed, but the original is scifi RPG. From a completely-custom character, to choosing your "class", dialog trees with some choices affecting your character's alignment, and even a talent-point like system,
If your pc can run it, get the pc version. It's slightly better looking, the DLC is free, and the control screen UI is improved.
Revynn Dec 23rd 2011 11:59AM
@ Knob - IIRC, the sequel was subcontracted out to a different studio who basically plugged a new story into the old game. It felt rushed because it kinda was.
I have to second the Mass Effect suggestion, though. The entire series so far has been incredible. I'm very anxiously awaiting the final installment in March.

KOTOR2 was rushed at the end; either it was rushed for the holidays, or just as likely, its story was going places Lucas didn't like, and so he had them pull the plug and they released what they had. The story was deep, complex, and had compelling viewpoints on the whole Light/Dark side that didn't mesh well with the overall Star Wars universe.
Definitely play KOTOR1, it is a masterpiece. KOTOR2 is just as good up until the very end, where the devs had to rush to close up everything to release.
raposo02790 Dec 23rd 2011 12:37PM
Yea I played both kotor games on the old x box fun and intriguing I might try star wars : tor but im just wondering what other gems are out there. Outside of the main buzz I don't really pay attention to the new games out there. I'd like to try some other IPs
Den Dec 23rd 2011 12:40PM
Is this troll bait? I mean no offense, but it's hard to take this seriously with TOR's release being so fresh in many people's minds. Even non-gamers have probably heard about it since it's effecting WoW rosters in most guilds.
paulmewis Dec 23rd 2011 12:50PM
Its probably 10 years old by now, and showing its age, but Freelancer was a game I used to enjoy. Yeah the combat is a bit weird, and there is no way you can play it as a trader, but not bad for a MMO project culled into a single player game.
Other then that, the Fallout series is another old favorite of mine. Not a massive fan of the 3rd one, it suffered from the usual Bethesda issue of only 4 npcs in the whole world, which was a bit boring in Oblivion; and I'd avoid the earlier console games like the plague as well.

I'm amazed no one mentioned the fallout games, one of my favorite game series of all time. Well not space scifi they are still scifi. They're set in a post apocalyptic nuclear wasteland of North America that is a lot like the wild west meets mad max. All the tech and science is based on the 1950s vision and understanding of the future including awesome big band and 50s crooner music.
The 2 newest ones, fallout 3 and new vegas, even use the same engine as the elder scrolls oblivion with a greatly improved leveling system. You can get fallout 3 game of the year for a bout $20 with all its dlc and new vegas (the much better of the two) without any dlc for $9 on steam.
David Dec 23rd 2011 1:11PM
I do have to say that what was said above, SWtOR, Mass Effect, and KotOR are all good (and all Bioware!). Another good one if you like western guns, with robots and all, kind of sci-fi but more end of the world, is Fallout 3.

Sorry for the double post, stupid phone.

Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 are both on sale on steam right now.

I literally bought the original KotOR two days ago. It's pretty awesome. Sadly, however, it started having horrible graphics issues that got completely unbearable by the time I reached Dantooine - I think my computer might actually be too terrible to run it. :(
