I don't think Anduin will be a true king for quite a while. Maybe it's that Blizzard has too much invested in Varian (or too little at this point) but I think while Varian is on the front lines in the coming War, Anduin will step in as Prince/Bishop of the Church of the Holy Light. There isn't much leadership there since Benedictus' betrayal, and I'd like to see Anduin step in a turn things around. Make the church less militaristic and perhaps become the prominent figurehead for peace. He's Velen's student, and undoubtedly Benedictus' corruption penetrated the church more than people realize.
Besides there might be some issues with Chris Tolkien if they make a faction leader the same name of the main River of Middle Earth.
