I, unfortunately, was extremely disappointed by this patch. #1, as a amateur lore buff, I wanted to see the war of the ancients as a full on raid not some silly 5 man with little trash. It had the capability to be another outdoor raid like firelands, except in that raid, there would be a battle on a MASSIVE SCALE. This was one of the largest battles in the history of Azeroth, and all we get to see of it is Illidan storming Azshara?! And it has been awhile since I read the books, but I do not remember any of the end of the books matching the dungeon. Now I believe they have said the books are not official lore but still.

On to the deathwing encounters. I was entirely, unimaginably disappointed in the creativity and "epicness" involved in the battles. This is an ASPECT, and we jsut pew pew him a few times with his own weapon, chop off his legs, and he disintegrates!? Not once the whole fight did the other aspects REALLY help. For instance, on the spine fight, what if we had to dodge periodic attacks from the aspects WHILE fighting. What if we had to barrel roll him at the right time to give Alexstrasza a good shot, or if we had to jump onto his back after harassing him on drakes, reminiscent of the eye of eternity, something, ANYTHING to make it feel like a dragon war. Like we are fighting a real being not just some flying platform. What if he periodically blew fire over his back and you had to crowd up to the plate for cover. There are so many ways to make this fight epic, and it simply wasn't.

And Madness?! There was nothing mad about that fight. it was BORING. Rinse and repeat with alittle more difficulty added 4 times, then the FINAL PHASE and what is it? more adds. while we tickle his eyeball.... he doesn't try to flail around. he doesn't try to bite us, he doesn't even try to lick us. Nah he just /popcorns as we kill adds and keep attacking his face. This isn't deathwing, this isn't the dragon that nearly wiped out the blues, that drove Malygos insane, that NEARLY DESTROYED THE WORLD. He is just a punching bag waiting to die. think of this. Deathwing never. NEVER. Directly attacks you in THE ENTIRE EXPANSION. that is WRONG on so, soooo many levels.

Everyone talks about wrath babies and Icc was too easy/trash/noobs but Icc engaged me. I felt like I was fighting arthas, fighting for the future of civilization. Deathwing? just a dragon poster I threw darts at. Very disappointing.
