Breakfast Topic: How lazy are you?

See where Roblinator is in that picture above? The bank is just down there /points. Yet I have called Gobber more than once while just a short distance from a bank. He only hangs around for a minute, has a half-hour cooldown, and I might need him when I'm questing a few minutes later. But it's all about the instant gratification of not having to travel across a city.
My blood elf mage who is also a scribe is constantly needing to hit the bank or the AH while grinding up Inscription. She has to rocket across Silvermoon City to restock and then get back to the Court of the Sun to buy supplies and train up. But she never scoots back (rockets can't fly in Silvermoon, as you probably know). No, she uses up a rune and ports back to the mage enclave and then just bops down the ramp to the inscription room.
It's not just about crossing cities, though. That lovely trick of leaving a dungeon and then porting back to turn in quests is a rather nice one, don't you think? No need to run down that ramp and around the corner. Just press a button twice. Lazy. (Note: Sometimes the size of the dungeon justifies the shortcut, but not always.)
Of course, in my day (vanilla), we didn't get mounts until level 40 and they were expensive. We also had to run the long way from Darnassus to Ironforge through dangerous territory if we wanted to train weapons. And the tauren run to Orgrimmar? Yeah, we didn't have built-in flightpaths and zeppelins back then. So I feel I earned my laziness. [Insert lawn reference here.]
What lazy things do you do? Are others inconsiderately lazy? In what way? How do you feel about the new features that encourage laziness?

Engineer mail box while in the auction house has to be the most lazy thing I have ever done.
Glaras Dec 28th 2011 9:01AM
My engineer toon refers to that as "being efficient". That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Malozing Dec 28th 2011 9:39AM
I've done that, but I agree with Glaras. I was just being super efficient =D

omg I've done that too!! In Dalaran no less, when really.. the mailbox is right outside the door. And to make matters a lil worse/better/depends on your take of lazyness.. I chose THIS auction house because the engineering supply vendor, trainer AND an anvil are right there. ALSO, the tailoring trainer is right out the door to the left. At the time I popped a mailbox inside the ah, I was getting my last points to max engineering.. so I popped the mailbox next to the anvil so that I could purchase parts as I needed them, and assemble whatever right there out of the mail.

There is a difference between being efficient and being lazy. If you are looking for "lazy" I take flight paths which often travel inefficient routes rather than fly my mount as the crow flies. However I use the downtime to work on my massive biceps and 6-pack abs.

I do the same, however I generally read comic books instead of working on my physique!

We all have our little pecadillos, personally, I hate the idea of farming mats for my food and elixers for raiding, so I usually just buy them off the AH right before the raid, and if the mats aren't available, then I just mooch off the guild feast and cauldron.
The ones that really irk me though, are when you have that guy in the raid who thinks its ok to randomly go AFK during trash. As a tank, I always wind up looking back at the arrow pointing off the map and thinking "Gee, I wish I could AFK like that."
Thankfully, with the yor'sahj and Hagara trash, now when that rogue goes AFK, he comes back to his keys to a corpse. And then he waits for a rez. And spends the guild's money on repairs. /notbitteratall.

Play as healer. Set tank on follow, lean back and only cast instant heals on them.
DPS can look after themselves
Nina Katarina Dec 28th 2011 8:49AM
I think you healed Well of Eternity for me last week. Damn, that was annoying.
wow Dec 28th 2011 8:50AM
I've done this as well, but only if the DPS are complete and total idiots and repeatedly do things that they aren't supposed to do.
As a healer I do try to look after the DPS if my assigned tank is doing well, but otherwise the Tank gets my priority and the DPS will just have to deal with it. Don't get me wrong, I also Queue as DPS and I have tanked, but not very often.
I love to DPS, but I just recently got into healing and I love it. I find tanking fun but the responsibilities involved can be time consuming and I don't want to do that much work. lol.

That's called being a scumbag to your group.
Chineselegolas Dec 28th 2011 9:04AM
I only did this while levelling, which trained monkey could do (Though how hard some healers failed when I levelled my tanked makes me wonder). Or when clearing the trash on transmog runs (Or any other way out geared content)
The new three I still pay most my attention too. The rest of it is distracted by how pretty they are.

I admit that I sometimes continue to Smite-spam for Atonement healing, as the ranged die from standing in the fire. Hey, if they wanted to live, they could have moved into Atonement heal range! Why should my DPS suffer because of them?
goldeneye Jan 4th 2012 4:31AM
Yup,
instant heals for everyone (Discipline's awesome absorb shields + Glyph of PW:S are usually enough for dps)
Atonement heals go to the tank (Holy Fire + Smite --> Archangel wings bcuz they're pretty) or that over-zealous plate dps.
in leveling dungeons
Of course, when the tank tries to check if I'm awake and pull three trash packs at once I pop Penance and start on the real heals.
I sometimes use Prayer of Healing for the heck of it too.
Thal Dec 28th 2011 8:14AM
So lazy to not open mails and retrieve my items from expired auctions until there is only 1 day from expiring.
Thal Dec 28th 2011 10:30AM
And ofcourse, let's not forget the 'I'm-too-lazy-to-log-my-alts-to-send-mats-so-I'll-just-buy-them-on-the-ah' level of laziness!
AltairDusk Dec 29th 2011 11:34AM
Rather than figure out what to sell to clear out some bag/bank space on a storage character I'll sometimes just mail anything I don't need for awhile to an unused alt and wait for it to be returned so I can repeat the process.
Jem Dec 28th 2011 8:27AM
Yeah I've had a sub lvl 20 toon run to the cathedral in SW to train first aid and then hearthed back to the trade district.....
Rezina Dec 28th 2011 8:29AM
Is it lazy when a herbalist/alchemist buys 20 stacks of herbs to make flasks with instead of farming them, because she has more gold than time? That would be me. :)
Robert Dec 28th 2011 8:42AM
I have frequently paid more for cut gems than uncut ones, just so I wouldnt have to cut them myself. I do this on my JC pally.
