It's just a name ultimately that's been brought along as the model evolves. I have fond (and not so fond) memories of TBC heroics and yeah they were brutal but felt rewarding. They wouldn't fit it with today's model though, which is giving access to a much larger player base.They could just change the name from "heroics" to something else I suppose and it'd solve it but everyone knows them as such now so.Mists does address some things though - challenge dungeons might very well be what heroics were in TBC, even more so perhaps, as to get the best time you'll need to play perfectly. I'm really looking forward to those, should be a lot of fun.

The thing about challenge dungeons is that I hope they aren't all simply, "complete in X minutes", because I feel that will lead to more 'no-cc, aoe-zerg everything' dungeon runs.
