I went with a fairly standard Crusader set. The blue highlights (Templar Crown, T9 chest and Ebon Blade vendored boots) pull it together to a more personal look, though. I'm honestly pretty thrilled about that chestpiece, because while most of it would look terrible with the set, the part that's actually visible has the perfect blue, with just enough of it showing for great detail.
The cloak is a less rigid choice - I just went with what I thought looks good.
I picked up the shield through questing in E. Plaguelands, I believe, but the axe is a real problem. While the Dwarven Hatchet mentioned in the article works okay, Dawn's Edge is THE paladin axe as far as I can tell. Nothing else I've found looks good for the job. Unfortunately, it's an old blacksmithing pattern that you can't get anymore - I was lucky enough to find someone whose rogue alt could craft it for some reason.
Throw in the Argent Crusader's Tabard (as opposed to the level 80 rep one), and the Argent Champion title, and you've got yourself a detailed, consistent, and believable set fit for a defender of the Light!
