The Queue: Double dog dare

Man, imagine how embarrassed you'd be if you reached out to pet the dog on the throw instead! Could you ever live it down? No. No, you could not.
Puntable asked:
My Rogue forgot to spend his VP and today he had 4300 VP. I thought VP capped a 4000. What is the VP cap now, and was it recently changed?
Good question! Valor points have a weekly cap of 1,000, but there's no limit to the number of points you can actually amass at any given time. Conquest points work the same way. Justice points are the only points with that 4k cap. It didn't make a whole lot of sense to cap VP anyway -- while JP accrue really quickly, it takes a while to accumulate enough VP to buy a piece of gear.
Farty McGee asked:
For trasmog, class-specific gear stays class-specific, correct? Even though a warrior-only piece is plate, my pally still can't transmog it? Blizz said a lot about plate-plate, mail-mail, etc., but I don't know if I heard for sure about class restrictions.
That's correct. You have to be able to equip the item normally, without the benefit of transmog, and it has to be your highest equippable armor class. If it says paladin and you're a warrior, or vice versa, you won't be able to use it for transmog.
Kulhanek.jeff asked:
On Ultraxion in LFR, when is the correct time to push the heroic will button? During the cast, right after the cast, the last second before the cast?
You can press Heroic Will at any time during the cast and you'll be fine, but it's recommended that you do it as close to the end of the cast as possible, because the more time you spend phased out, the less DPS you'll do. Just remember that you have to compensate for latency. Two or three seconds before the end of the cast is usually a good time.
Scotty asked:
After the Azshara fight in Well of Eternity, we see the aspects fiddling with the Dragon Soul. Why don't I see Malygos there?
Malygos and Neltharion had just had a battle between their two respective flights, and Malygos was resting and recovering from it. In fact, he stayed that way for ... well, right up until Wrath. Our Know Your Lore article on the Dragon Soul should help answer any questions about what the dragons were up to at the time.

Quick question for readers and writers of the Queue... What's your favorite (harmless/non-game-breaking) bug in game? I'm talking about the silly little bugs that have no effect at all on the game itself, but manage to elicit a chuckle or even a full on "lol" from you when they happen?
For me, personally, I'd have to go with the Druid's flight form bug. If you play a druid, you know the one I'm talking about. Cast flight form, jump up into the air immediately after you cast, and.... BAM! SWIMMING THROUGH THE AIR! Sure it only lasts a few seconds, but Bonzo's brass buttons if it doesn't make me, at the very least, smile every time it happens.
So what about you, dear readers/writers of The Queue? What is your favorite in-game bug that follows that same level of harmlessness?

Heh - it's pretty minor, but there are some... oddities with the way mounts stand in some areas. I've noticed it most in between the main bank and AH in SW (probably because I've spent a bit of time hanging out there).
Basically - the mount gets to a point where they're JUST barely standing on the curb, and they end up pointing way up or way down in a whacky manner.
The first time I saw it, the person on the mount had it facing down towards the mailbox, and I thought they were exploiting a glitch that was letting them, ahem... mount their mount.

I miss Sentry Totem and its bug. Way back in Vanilla, whenever you switched between your viewpoint and the totem's, if your character was in the air you would freeze in place with the falling animation. No matter how high the drop off, you would be able to Sentry Totem down to safety.
R.I.P. Sentry Totem :*(

Not sure if it's a bug, but I still get a kick out of the new gliding effect of Levitated players. A guildie likened the scooting to Gumby.
I miss being able to /dance while hearthing or in the "ready" animation. That made for some pretty LOLtastic moves.

Sparkle ponies stand funny and you can make them stand almost horizontally. This even works with several so you can make a horizontal stack of multiple ponies on something like a summon stone.
(Don't ask how I know this... >.> )
The HH's horse has the same weirdness. Sometimes when either of them land their feet go into the ground.

ALL HAIL Magma Totem VII, CHAMPION OF VALHALAS!

Back in Vanilla, it was zoning into a raid and seeing the entire guild naked. That armor display bug was hilarious.

My favorite (being a Hunter and all) is when you Feign Death and then move forward. It's pretty funny watching myself go sliding across the ground like I'm on an invisible Slip-N-Slide. I don't know if anyone else can see it but it's really funny and has been making me laugh for the last 2 years. :D

there's this /console command that can make you fly upside down or make loops. Love it.

This one time in Darkshore...
It was back in Vanilla, and Blizz was apparently having trouble with some mobs' death animations. So for about a week, when you killed one of these mobs, rather than dying, they would simply freeze in place and, I shit you not, tip over about 30 degrees.

My favorite bug ever is one that never made it into the live game.
During one of the TBC PTRs, there was a bug wherein moving your bags around could do some weirdo things with your character's stats. In effect, it felt like you were getting the benefit of whatever gear was in your bags multiplied by the number of times you swapped bags.
This resulted in everyone walking around with millions of HP and insane offensive and defensive stats. It wasn't all that helpful since you would lose the effect whenever you zoned, but it was possible to one-shot outdoor raid bosses which was kind of fun.
The effect wasn't the reason I liked it so much, though. I liked it because of how weird it was. None of the features they did that patch had anything to do with the way bags or banks worked, so where the heck did the bug come from?

The night after one patch in Wrath. Apparently they ramped up the rate at which thorium spawned. Me and a couple friends/guildies farmed 1500/2000 ores a piece. Found out later it wasn't a bug, but it was still a fun night.

One of the weirdest bugs on the PTR was during the 3.0.2 PTR. If you spec'd into Presence of Mind, and Pyroblast, Pyroblast wouldn't use it up. So you could have instant Pyroblasts all day long as long as you didn't cast anything else.
Another weird bug from the same time was when they patched the PTR servers, but didn't release a client patch just yet. The servers still let you on, and the PVP PTR acted like a PVE server, except you couldn't flag yourself. AOE would still affect other players, so when they found this out, everyone went around AOE'ing. If you didn't have one, you were screwed. This lasted about an hour.
As far as live servers, I can't think of one I like off the top of my head that's still around.

One of the stranger bugs I'd ever encountered was a paladin-only bug during TBC testing that if you were running Seal of Righteousness, had something like 3 or 4 points in the Improved SoR talent, and then cast Judgement...you would find yourself mounted on a Black War Kodo.
Seriously.
Jaq Dec 30th 2011 1:45PM
The recent bug where, when gargoyles died, they curled up in balls in mid-air was always worth a laugh or two from me.
Draykin Dec 30th 2011 1:47PM
Back in the Wrath Beta there was a bug where if you used Chains of Ice and then immediately Death Gripped something it would hover through the air for a good minute or so, being pulled in slow motion. Hellfire Peninsula was covered in Death Knights making boars and other creature fly.
Alysandir Dec 30th 2011 1:59PM
@Draykin:
Wasn't there also a Death Grip bug where if you got Death Gripped by someone on a boat while you were on the dock, you would be dragged across the world to the other destination?

Spinning Corpses, patch 4.1:
Not sure if it started during this patch, or if that's when I first noticed it. But while running ZA/ZGs with guildies, whenever someone died, there was a (seemingly) 1-in-4 chance of said dead body to begin spinning spontaneously. This was apparent to all parties but the actual dead person it seems.
BONUS! If the same spinning corpse player was about to lag out, he could walk around as a spinning corpse!
paulmewis Dec 30th 2011 2:48PM
There was a bug that used to kill players in some strange incidents when they did some benign things like walking downstairs. Or a 2ft fall off a balcony. Never had it happen to myself, but a few raid members died for no reason on a few occasions due to it, afaik.
