As far as feral balancing goes, Cataclysm has been the most disappointing for me. We're still a far cry from the days of Icecrown Citadel and actually being involved in jostles for first position on damage - a position dominated by anything that attacks from range.I honestly do wonder how much they test things - such as how swipe was so woefully bad to the point where they had to buff it twice (and then nerf it all over again). I was doing more damage wearing a 340ilvl moonkin set than I was wearing my bits-of-heroic-gear kitty gear on heroic Maloriak.Fandral's has had a stealth nerf which not many people have mentioned. Zoning through a portal or logging off will drop the flamecat buff. Fortunately each staff has its own cooldown, so I've kept my normal version of the staff.I intend to macro in my heroic one when I eventually replace it with Kiril so that I can still get myself the flamecat buff in exchange for a minimal loss of DPS.

If your "340 iLevel Moonkin set" was out-performing 397+ iLevel kitty, then you're probably playing your spec wrong. Melee or ranged, our feral kitty can still out-DPS some of our casters on fights like Morchok. Especially when most of our guild is around the same gear level.

"On heroic Maloriak". I'm guessing his cat gear was around 360 at that point.

Context matters, SR. Note he's referencing Malriak, not current tier. Reading comprehension goes a long way toward keeping you from looking like a moron when you're assuming an air of smug superiority.
