What's the ideal Void Bolt stack to taunt on for Yor'Sahj? I tanked it for the first time last night and the other tank got pissed because I taunted off of him when he had 3 stacks. I think he figured I was trying to be a hero, but I'm so used to 3 or 4 stacks being the "right" number. He proceeded to let me die by refusing to taunt off of me, and I made it to about 10 stacks (so an additional 25K DPS) before the healers couldn't keep me up any more.Every group will be different, but what;s the generally accepted level?

Every group will be different, yes. Your group, for example, was different for its notable inclusion of an idiot tank.3 is exactly what I taunt at, and it's what I've heard pretty much every guide ever suggest. It sounds more like HE was trying to be a hero and your correct handling of the mechanics made his little ePeen hurt.

Thanks! It was an odd experience. I was sitting there watching my stacks increment- doing everything I could to stay alive, so I didn't bother typing in chat. Another player in the group told him taunt and the other tank responds with something to the effect of "Maybe if you (directed at me) didn't taunt off me early, I would taunt."I'm not sure if decorum is different with the first VB, since the first slimes seemed to come out shortly after I taunted.I dunno- it wasn't a big deal. I got b-rezzed and we finished the boss and Hagara with no further issues.

Please tell me at least the other tank got vote-kicked though....

I've done this fight a couple times where the only time we tank swapped was when the tank died which was a pain in the but as a healer. I think it stacks up quickly enough and lasts long enough that if you taunt at 3 the other tank won't be able to taunt back until 4 or 5 but for lfr any sort of attempt at tank swapping is good enough.

In normal we usually one tank it - since the dot falls off when Yorsahj is channelling. So his method is viable - but only if the healers know that the tank will take a lot of damage, and are able to deal with it. But in LFR, why risk that?
