It appears that the holidays are over at Blizzard today, as our first new content since the launch of patch 4.3 has hit the public test realms with a few interesting tidbits. MMO-Champion has got
the full scoop, showing off the datamined Feldrake mount as well as a new
World of Warcraft optimization feature that can slim down
WoW's footprint on your system. A 64-bit game client is also teased with the addition of a Text x86 client marking, and new client strings show off some of the
WoW parental controls.
A rideable Feldrake as well as an Eye of the Legion pet, hmm? Could these items give us any clues toward the
Mists of Pandaria launch events that are going to be happening presumably within the next few months, making way for the next expansion? Are we getting a glimpse of a demonic invasion that will leave the Horde and the Alliance scrambling to fight off enemies from all sides?
Check out all of the changes for patch 4.3.2 over
at MMO-Champion.
Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Review the official patch notes, and then dig into what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

Some may say a demonic invasion.
I on the other hand believe it to be... aliens.

@idamson
The truth is out there.

While I am thinking the mount and pet are going to be TCG items, I wouldn't be opposed to another attack from the demons. Some people are saying they don't want to fight more demons but if you look at the lore, there are really 3 main groups of bad guys. Demons, Scourge, and Old Gods. But even then, the Scourge were created by the demons so I personally wouldn't mind another chance to kill some more of them.

I hope you are right - so we can have one big unified universe with warcraft in one end and starcraft in the other - on our way to the OASIS ;-)

I'm not saying it was aliens, but it was aliens
yagamimoon Jan 3rd 2012 11:20PM
I don't know, therefore aliens.

So are we planning on seeing some X-Files related NPCs soon?
wllmsgame Jan 3rd 2012 6:18PM
Does this mean that the leftover Black Dragons in the world decided to join the Burning Legion?
wowsitemail Jan 3rd 2012 7:48PM
More likely some of the ones that hung out with the Horde back in Warcraft II joined up with the Legion then. That or the legion took some of the eggs that didn't become nether drakes and put them to their own uses.

We have a indication in current live version. If you check your launchers options you will find that a 32-bit mode is selected by default and can not be changed at this time.
zlliM Jan 3rd 2012 7:07PM
will 64 bit require a fresh install?
Samuel Jan 3rd 2012 7:37PM
Probably not. It'll most likely be a different executable(so fifteen extra megabytes, if that) that will be downloaded along with the patch, and switching the setting in the Launcher will make the Launcher use the 64-bit executable than the 32-bit one.

It'll be nice to let the game stretch its legs.
Didn't a blue declare "No 64-bit client, because it will double the testing required for new patches" like three months ago?

fel drake and eye of the legion, wouldn't that imply... the legion?
I thought the pre mist event was about destroying theramoore, and MoP, was about faction war, I hadn't heard anything about the legion for the expansion.
the fel drake and the eye sound more for outland/legion home world kind of thing.
loop_not_defined Jan 3rd 2012 6:22PM
I'm guessing it's either the launch event, as you said, or prepping for a pre-MoP mini-raid.

I'm going to lean towards a patch for TCG and "minor" updates. Mainly because of timing.
A minor patch like this would be on the PTR for only a couple weeks. A full patch would be about 2 months.
If it was a pre-expansion event, it should be on the PTR at the tail end of alpha or early beta. It shouldn't take too much development, but we don't want it coming out too early. Unless it's a massively long event. Like every two weeks, the factions switch offense/defense to a different town in retaliation for the last town that was attacked. Could probably get 6 towns, so 12 week event.
Zaphkela Jan 3rd 2012 6:24PM
I think the mount and pet combo will be for the TCG. Still likely to have implications for Mists of Pandaria, though.
Fletcher Jan 3rd 2012 6:35PM
I have to agree with this; the Legion doesn't really fit with what we've heard of Pandaria, and the mount-and-pet combo seems more like a TCG expansion.

Another item added in the patch:
Demon Hunter's Aspect
Binds when picked up
Resemble a demon hunter for 5 min. (30 Min Cooldown)
Three items, a mount, a pet, and a vanity item, all Legion themed, seems like TCG to me.
RetPallyJil Jan 3rd 2012 6:24PM
I wouldn't mind crushing some demon skulls ...
