The Queue: Clearly, the correct answer is Tommy, the green Ranger

Andy provided the correct answer for yesterday's Queue. And let me tell you, he's right.
Except the Pink Ranger. I had such a crush on her ...
Shrinknet asked:
What level does my fishing need to be in order to catch Cata-level fish, and can I reach it with bonus items?
You need to have a fishing skill of 1 to catch from pools (Blizzard made this change a while back) and 450 to begin to catch normally from open water in Cataclysm zones.
Fishing also levels up pretty fast right now, so it's a good time to grind it out. Only took me about a dozen episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation on Netflix to level fishing through.
Ailuvan asked:
I switched from physical to mobile authenticator. No problem there.
Then there was an update to the auth app. At which point, it stopped working. So I sent in a request to detach it from my account, but that took 3 days, and finally happened when I was asleep. An hour later, the account was hacked. 2 hours later, I woke up, reset the pw, and reached the authenticator, and all was well.
Does the mobile app lose its mind every time it's upgraded?
I've never experienced a problem with the authenticator app, but that sucks that it happened. I know other people have had similar issues. I think if there's something not working with it for you, the best bet might be not update it (why fix it if it's not broken?) or use a physical authenticator.
Joakim asked:
Just what exactly is up with that village in Tol Barad? It's got dwarves, humans, gnomes, orcs and taurens - all in a very suspicious mood and easily angered.
They're all outlaws and have a bad attitude in general. Nothing much can be done to make them happy, so we kill 'em, or at least try to take their fish.
Buffalo asked:
My name is Buffalo and tomorrow is my birthday. Can we have a buffalo themed queue tomorrow?
No. Bah, humbug.
Happy birthday.

I'm guessing by your comment that you're not a healer? They updated the default blizzard UI somewhere in between Wrath and Cata so that there were raid frames kinda like the ones provided by an addon called Grid. The old ones were unusable for healing, but the new ones are marginally usable. I don't know any raiding healers who use the default UI to heal, and definitely none that would use the old click-and-drag windows, though I believe Netherea once claimed on the official forums she did (and was promptly trolled to oblivion).
(I'm trying to say this in as non a snotty way as possible, sorry if it comes off that way)

I use the the default raid frames to raid heal.
Seriously, they're not that bad now with the right settings and some mouseover macros. Much of my reason is that I switch computers regularly and I find setting up raid frame addons a pain, whereas other addons are more plug-and-play.

The mobile authenticator now has a "backup" feature, with info that makes it easy to enter information you can store into a new mobile authenticator app. When my wife got a new phone, I just had to enter that information into the app on her new phone and she was good to go.
If you go in the app to the Setup window and then click Continue (Android: Menu>Setup>Continue - not sure on iOS), you'll see your Serial Number and your Restore Code. (the restore code is not your authenticator code that changes regularly and is all numbers. The restore code probably has letters in it and never changes).
Save that info and you can use it to restore a poorly-updated authenticator or move to a different device or whatever you need to do.

I don't think the email was a phishing attempt, it didn't actually have links for me to click that sent me somewhere to log in. I'm paranoid about email links so if I think it's from battle.net ill go from my browser manually rather than the email. I don't even instal flash player when it tells me without going to their website myself. Besides, at this point I already couldn't log in so I didn't even follow up on it until I got the second email.
I knew about the serial number and restore code, I had just gotten lax about remembering where I had written it down because every other time I restored my phone or replaced or upgraded it I had no issues. Perhaps the only difference was that I used an iCloud backup to restore this time, which I don't recommend to anyone. So I agree that either the way apple restores phones from backups changed or the app itself has.

On the mobile app you can copy down the restore code and serial number. If you ever swap phones/ restore iOS/ or have an issue you can use these two numbers to restore the mobile authenticator without having to de-authenticate, then re-add to your account. Also if you call Blizz tech support and have the authenticator serial number they can remove the authenticator on the spot should you need it removed.

Q for the Queue:
This is mainly a lore question. I was questing through Hyjal the other day, and got to thinking about the different druidic spirits (Malorne, Ursol/Ursoc, Aviana, etc.) So I went onto Wowpedia and did some research and found that their's no mention of any cat spirit anywhere. Being a feral druid myself, this is somewhat disheartening. All of our other shapeshift forms seem to be derived from an ancient, but cat form seems to just be there without any lore justification. Did I miss something or is this an oversight on blizzards part?

This is completely my own guess, here.
Night Elves have a very clear and obvious bond with sabers, from the Wintersaber trainers to the fact that they ride sabers and hunters begin with one. While Lo'gosh possibly taught ferocity, everything about him was to just embrace the ferocious spirit, and he probably wouldn't mind what form the druid took to do this in, as long as they were properly 'rar' about it. The Night Elves found it easier to bond with the cat form, and could still be properly fierce, Lo'gosh wouldn't have a problem with it. There's also the possibility that those original followers of Lo'gosh who eventually created the whole worgen thing were seen as -too- fierce and unbalanced, and the cat wasn't as crazy go nuts thanks to it's discipline needed to use stealth and was more balanced and a better choice to be fierce in without going insane.
Lore states that the Tauren probably learned from Cenarius back in the day, but they forgot somewhere along the line, and it took Arch Druid Hamuul Runetotem to walk up to Malfurion and go 'Teach me, damnit' for them to get it back. Since the current Tauren druids learned from the Night Elves, their form is a cat as well, but looks more similar to the familiar 'mountain lion' types that the Tauren are used to from Mulgore.
I personally like to think that the earlier Tauren druids took on a wolf form, as they'd have had an affinity for them, but when those original druids were gone (maybe a tribe that was wiped out by the centuars before Thrall got there to help?) the remaining tribes lost the ability. 'Runetotem' sounds like a tribal name that was once a family of shamans, who had once worked with the now gone druids, and who were subjected to a profession change by the head of their tribe, Hamuul.
Ingame wise, it's probably a design decision to not confuse people since Shamans have spirit wolf, which lore wise was explained by Orc shamans having been close to wolf spirits and wolf spirits generally representing the 'wilds' in Draenor, and there are no cats in Outland. And I -just now- realized that...the ones in the Netherstorm are arguably put there by the Etherials in their fancy little domes, I dont think the creatures in the eco domes are native to the planet, I think they're just whatever the Etherials collected that looked cool, because of their particular nature. Tauren shaman, if not learning from the Orcs, would just have grown close to the wolf as a powerful nature spirit any rate, and I'm fairly certain that the Trolls learned from the Orcs. Goblins, we know, just took it up because of good old Goldmine understanding the whole idea of 'bargains' with the elemental critters as just another contract. Dwarf shamans make sense having wolves with how there are an awful lot of wolves in the areas where the Wildhammer lived, too.
tldr; Night Elves learned being 'fierce' from Lo'gosh but didn't really know wolves thanks to where they lived so translated being fierce into being a cat (or the wolf was too unbalanced and prone to rabid while the cat and it's ability to stealth was more balanced and focused), and current Tauren druids first learned druiding again from Night Elves so picked up the cat form too.

BRD actually is split into two for the purposes of dungeon finder, but the game doesn't do a very good job of letting you know which of the two you got placed in (unless there was a fix to that recently).
ST on the other hand has NOT been split up, the upper part is simply gone or inaccessible.

is there a minimum lvl requirement for the professions quests at the Darkmoon Faire? I am trying for the achievement Faire Favors but my archeology is on 75 and I have been unable to find the quest? Do you have to be minimum 100 or something?
Noyou Jan 3rd 2012 8:49PM
It's level 75 for the profession in question. Someone was saying there was a bug that won't let you get certain quests. That may be one of them. Keep in mind profession quests can only be done once per faire.

For the person with the mobile authenticator issue- that's definitely unusual, but there's a way to safeguard yourself in case that happens again-
Open your current authenticator. Open the Menu, and select "Setup." Click Continue, and on the next screen- write everything down! This page will give you the serial number for your mobile authenticator and a restore code; the seed necessary to re-create your unique authenticator on any phone.
If your authenticator ever breaks again, open the app, open the menu, go to Restore, select the option to restore, and enter the serial and the code- there you go, your old authenticator is back in action, no need for the three hour tour of Blizz support (I had a very similar incident, including the overnight removal and hack.)

The mobile authenticator was updated a whole ago to give restore information in its settings so of you lost your device as long as you has the restore info you can reinstall the mobile app and not have to call customer service to have it removed...
This in fact makes it better then the physical authenticator as its self recoverable... I have 2 smart phones (work for a cell company... Don't judge) an have the app in both devices running the same restore info so they give the same code, and have the restore info written down t home just In case I lose both phones... Mobile authenticator is made of win...
A question to go with my rant, why use the physical authenticator which of lost requires a call to customer service to replace when you can just use mobile and have unlimited restores so that you never actually "lose" your authenticator as long as you have access to an android, iPhone or worst case blackberry device
