The Queue: Clearly, the correct answer is Tommy, the green Ranger

Andy provided the correct answer for yesterday's Queue. And let me tell you, he's right.
Except the Pink Ranger. I had such a crush on her ...
Shrinknet asked:
What level does my fishing need to be in order to catch Cata-level fish, and can I reach it with bonus items?
You need to have a fishing skill of 1 to catch from pools (Blizzard made this change a while back) and 450 to begin to catch normally from open water in Cataclysm zones.
Fishing also levels up pretty fast right now, so it's a good time to grind it out. Only took me about a dozen episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation on Netflix to level fishing through.
Ailuvan asked:
I switched from physical to mobile authenticator. No problem there.
Then there was an update to the auth app. At which point, it stopped working. So I sent in a request to detach it from my account, but that took 3 days, and finally happened when I was asleep. An hour later, the account was hacked. 2 hours later, I woke up, reset the pw, and reached the authenticator, and all was well.
Does the mobile app lose its mind every time it's upgraded?
I've never experienced a problem with the authenticator app, but that sucks that it happened. I know other people have had similar issues. I think if there's something not working with it for you, the best bet might be not update it (why fix it if it's not broken?) or use a physical authenticator.
Joakim asked:
Just what exactly is up with that village in Tol Barad? It's got dwarves, humans, gnomes, orcs and taurens - all in a very suspicious mood and easily angered.
They're all outlaws and have a bad attitude in general. Nothing much can be done to make them happy, so we kill 'em, or at least try to take their fish.
Buffalo asked:
My name is Buffalo and tomorrow is my birthday. Can we have a buffalo themed queue tomorrow?
No. Bah, humbug.
Happy birthday.

Q for the Q: I was starting to gather heirloom gear for my future monk and came across a problem: If I recall correctly Monks are supposed to tank using two handers (staves and polearms being the only ones available to them). The only agility two hander heirloom is a mace- perfect for druids but not giving much to Monks. Did I miss remember them saying that monks would be using two handers to tank? Will they introduce a new tanking heirloom? Did I miss something else?
Bonus Q: Blizzard has said that only druids will get a fourth spec, because they are the only ones that feel like they have four specs. If you could give a class a fourth spec what would it be?
I'd give shaman a tanking spec. Or paladins a spell dps spec.
Cephas Jan 3rd 2012 2:56PM
Even if Brewmasters are "supposed" to use 2-handers, we don't really know what that means because we don't know how any of their key mechanics work. If there aren't any mechanics that specifically require a 2-hander, it might be possible to tank while dual weilding Venerable Masses of McGowan. Considering all of the stats on those things they might end up significantly better than available 2-handers, but it's impossible to know for sure until we have a better understanding of how Brewmasters work.

"Ghostcrawler: They wear leather armor, so the tank and DPS monks will want the same Agility-based armor that rogues and Feral druids wear. The healing monk will want the Intellect-based armor worn by Balance and Resto druids. For weapons, the two signature items are fists and staves. At the moment, we are focusing the Windwalker on fists and the Brewmaster on staves, but we might give players more flexibility than that. The melee monks can also use weapons like one-handed maces, axes, and swords. The Mistweaver can use healer staves, maces, axes, and swords. Monks can’t use shields, and no melee class uses ranged weapons any longer."

So, yes, it was stated they're considering staves for Brewmaster tanking, but he did also leave open the possibility for more flexibility. Mainly, though, we're so far away from MoP that whether or not they'll have to create a new heirloom weapon or not is likely a concern very far from the developer's minds, so there's no real way to answer your main question about the heirlooms.

I'm guessing they will make Monk tanking with 2h weapons similar to Feral druids mostly based on dodge. Feral druids can't parry so it makes little sense for Blizz to make Brewmaster-only tanking gear. I almost wish Blizzard would just do away with Parry and combine it into Expertise. That way, more gear would be viable for a broader audience and tanks wouldn't have to forgo threat stats for survival stats.

This! This exact thing happened to me last week. In my case my phone broke and got a new one and suddenly stopped working with my account even though previously restoring my iPhone saved all the data I needed. Then I asked for it to be removed an my account was immediately hacked. In fact, the email that said my account had been closed for economy exploits came almost a day before I even got the confirmation that my authenticator was removed. It was enough for me to wonder of something had happened blizzard side for a while.
Eyhk Jan 3rd 2012 4:55PM
I'm thinking that the email that said your account was closed for economy hacks was the actual phishing email that got you hacked.
That said, I posted a separate comment but I'll comment here as well.
The physical authenticator has a serial number that uniquely identifies the authenticator.
The mobile authenticator also has a serial number, but it seems to change every time you install it. You need to write it down, along with the restore code, by going to Menu, Setup. If you ever update your phone, os, or app, and the code doesn't work, check to make sure the serial number is the same. If not, they have a Restore function where you can make it right.

This might be late, I'm too lazy to trawl through the comments, but I actually had a similar Mobile Authenticator issue a few days ago that resulted in a wacky chain of events and the whole cause was because the Authenticator de-synced.
If you have an iPod or iPhone app (dunno if same for Android) hit the little circle made of arrows in the bottom left corner to re-sync it.
I sure felt stupid when I found that out over the Customer Support phoneline.
Ailuvan Jan 3rd 2012 2:30PM
The resynch button didn't fix the issue. As someone stated in a roundabout way in another comment, the serial number probably changed when the app reinstalled, so synching didn't synch the old serial and it's seed, but the new one.

Q for the Queue:
My shaman is the first character I'm leveling post-Cataclysm mainly through the LFD tool and she's reaching the 50's and all those crazy long dungeons that come with it (looking at you, Blackrock Depths). Sunken Temple used to be one of my favorite dungeons with its unique little way you had to do things to get to certain bosses, etc. So imagine my surprise last night when LFD took me there and there were only three bosses to kill with the rest of the bosses blocked off and all encounters with not even the slightest mechanic. What in the world is up with that when they leave Black Rock Mountain the eternal, confusing labyrinth that it is but entirely destroy Sunken Temple and even (and most importantly) cover the drain hole in the middle of the room! If you zone into ST from the world is it still the same old dungeon or like Shadowfang Keep will it be different?
Argojax Jan 3rd 2012 5:04PM
I believe that both ST and BRD are broken up into level appropriate segments now. One part of BRD can be done in like two seconds (go in straight to the interrogator) and the other is all the way to the emperor. ST I think has upper and lower as well now.
Ata Jan 4th 2012 12:17PM
Sunken Temple was more of a literal maze than BRD. BRD was just big, and it's been split up into two different places now. ST was one, and is just one now, and yeah, the cuts to it are...dramatic. But when you could easily accidentally wander from one level to another without getting/doing the thing you had to, one level had a puzzle I -always- had to look up the answer to despite having played since a month after the game released, one boss relied on killing bosses on complete other levels to get to, one group of bosses required you go up some stairs then down some stairs to get to one then repeat for three more and you could often go down the -wrong- set of stairs...it was something that desperately needed refinement. I think those of us who've played for a long time are just jarred by the drastic change, but for the level it's intended, it's a good, quick little romp through what used to take almost if not longer than BRD to do.
Ata Jan 4th 2012 12:19PM
Also, BRD, while large, is at mostly linear. ST had so many stairs and twisty corners and entirely circular floors that it could, and was, a nightmare to navigate. Too many stacked floors was probably it's downfall.
Duffman Jan 3rd 2012 2:50PM
I was going to ask a question, but I may have come up with the answer; what is the biggest in-game model to date? I wanna say Madness of Deathwing. If I can be proven wrong, do so. So, here's a different reiteration:
What's the largest in-game model per expansion? As in, vanilla, BC, and Wrath?
Drakkenfyre Jan 3rd 2012 3:49PM
Actual model?
As in, not counting only characters or NPC's or creatures, but actual, physically the largest model in the game? The death effect.
When you look up when you are dead, you see a swirling effect in the sky. That swirling vortex is actually a model. You can see the effect with it's own entry in the model viewer. That has to be one of the largest models in the game. This is not counting ground, as that is considered terrain.

Q for the Q: Does spirit on an item still make it automatically "healer gear"? I'm a caster DPS (elemental shaman) and it seems to me like it's hard to find caster gear that doesn't have spirit on it these days. But if I roll on spirit gear, the healer gets angry. Am I being a noob ninja about this, or are they stuck in pre-cata stat mindsets?
Drakkenfyre Jan 3rd 2012 3:49PM
While it's primarily seen as a Healer stat, some gear shares Spirit. Shadow Priests have a Talent that converts Spirit to Hit, so they can have two specs worth of gear without having two completely different sets of gear. But yes, it's primarily seen as a Healer stat.
Shinae Jan 3rd 2012 4:17PM
While spirit converts to hit for casters of healing-capable classes, the opposite is not true for healers, i.e. hit does not convert to spirit. So the polite thing is to let healers have first dibs on spirit gear.
Mummrah Jan 3rd 2012 5:36PM
For elemental shamans and balance druids there's not much to be done. While, yes, there are a few pieces of mail and leather SP gear that do not have spirit on them, most of them do. Think of the SP plate pieces. They are only useable by a single spec of a single class. So as not to make that mistake 5 times by separating resto/balance, resto/elemental they made it so those dmg specs had a talent to convert spirit to hit. As for shadow priests, I say that unless you actually play holy or disc then you should stick to non-spirit pieces, but that's just me.
Cephas Jan 3rd 2012 6:37PM
ALL Int Mail gear drops have Spirit on them, because caster mail and healing mail aren't separately itemized (at least for boss drops).
If you're talking about non-mail items (like necks, rings, cloaks etc.) those do get itemized separately between caster and healer, so for those items it makes sense to give healers priority.
