I won the Stranglethorn Vale fishing tournament this week for the 4th time (and 3 out of the past 4 weeks)! Does that make me a dick, like everyone says, or does everyone else just need to get better?

I was going to say happy birthday, but then I decided that you're kind of a dick.
Dude, give other people a chance!Once I got my "Salty" I never did the fishing tournament again.

There are only two items available for winning. You only need to win it once for the title. At best, two times would have been considered the "polite" limit. After two times, it ends up you being more of a jerk and blocking other people, than having any use to you. If you want to try to get the non-first prize prizes, there is nothing wrong with that. But you should hang back and let other people have a chance at getting something that's already harder than hell.
I was under the impression that RNG is the biggest factor in the fishing tournaments since it's all about fishing something up before anyone else and the only "skill" in fishing is your "X of 525" skill level. I'm not going to say you're a dick for doing it, but if you've gotten all you can get from the tournament, you should probably consider stepping aside to let someone else win.

Winning isnt what makes you a dick. The need to post winning the last 3 out of 4 on this blog is what makes you a dick.

It only makes you sorta douchey – unless you have a bunch of guildies ganking the other contestants, in which case you are definitely a dick.
Does the speed with which your comment turned black provide answer enough to your question?

Hey...at least he doesn't hunt for Time Lost Proto Drake and successfully killing it WHILE on a TLPD to begin with to prevent others from ever obtaining it!Seen it happen, believe it or not, 3 times this week - from the same person.

Wow. Buffalo, you are a large type A-hole. I hope at least you did it on 4 different toons. The salty title is probably one of my favorite titles in the game. I am trying to get it on my second toon. I would only do the fishing tourneys to satisfy that part. Respect the game and your fellow players man. Karma is a bitch. For the dude on the TLPD- while what he is doing is borderline, I would still report his ass to a GM. Technically, you could say he is messing with other peoples games. That's right down there with ganking level 10s and placing your mount over a NPC/portal. Sometimes you have to help Karma out a little ;) A clear and concise report, detailing the dates/times of this guys actions might get a little time out for him to think about how much of a d-bag he is.

Sorry I couldn't make it to your b-day party dick...err Buffalo. Problem was, I found a box to put your present in, but I wouldn't cut a large enough hole in the side of it to stick you in.P.S. You smell like fish!

@Noyou Unfortunately I don't think Blizz cares if someone is blocking an NPC or portal anymore. My daughter and I have both gotten responses recently that just said try another vendor etc.

I hope this was a joke post. I've pretty much given up on the fishing tournaments because I've been afraid of things like that. Either people who have won who decide to win over and over - just because they can, or the bring a different alt every week so they can have 10+ Saltys instead of giving other folks a chance. It's just not worth the stress, to me, of blocking out playing time during the tournaments just to repeatedly not win.Sure, it's a competition but, unless your realm is so sparsely populated that you're only competing with friends/guildmates and it's all in good fun, don't do be like that. If there are other people you don't know who are trying to do it, there's a good chance that you're interfering with their achievement hunting - on purpose.

I was actually really bummed to see that we didn't have a buffalo-themed Queue today, but now I don't feel bad in the least. Clearly you are a gigantic prick, and a big prick Queue would probably be inappropriate anyway :S

How in the blazes do people win either Tournament in the short amount of time they do it in? I've seen it won in less than 5 minutes before...

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that your screen name made me remember this Wikipedia page:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo_buffalo_Buffalo_buffalo_buffalo_buffalo_Buffalo_buffalo

It doesn't make you a dick. It makes you a giant, tool box kind of dick.

In case you haven't realized yet, regardless of the situation, there is no point at which posing the question, "Am I a dick?", on the internet no less, will ever be answered with something other than variations of "YES".Personally, I think you should take an arrow to the knee. >_>
