Poll: What's the best-looking race in WoW?

Which race do you think looks the best, with the best aesthetics? Are you partial to the new Horde style of orcish design and ferocity? Do you feel more at home in the serene altitudes of Teldrassil with the night elves? Do you think the new goblin and worgen races just look better based on technology and time or that even the blood elves and draenei still look solid after three full expansions? Maybe you're the last die-hard human fan out there who is ready and willing to put your love of Azeroth's humanity on the line. What do you guys think?

I'm saying Blood Elf. They have a good mixture of aesthetic beauty and strength, no major problems with weird proportions like Male Night Elves or horrible facial flaws like Human Males, and no more than the standard amount of dumb clipping issues.
Skarn Jan 4th 2012 6:25PM
I am, surprisingly, going with Blood Elves too. I think they're the only race that I actually like BOTH the male and female models. Despite my main being a male night elf, the model isn't as good as the blood elf. Maybe if the character remodel comes sooner than the dance studio, my opinion will change.
Strong runners up for me are night elves, draenei, tauren and worgen.

I had to think objectively for a few minutes. I wanted to say Draenei. Then I took into account the male's bulky melee animations. I have to agree with Skarn. Blood elves are almost flawless. My only gripe is the floppy ears and eyebrows but as you mostly see the backside, it's not too bad. I wish the Draenei has some facial hair options that didn't include tentacles. I would list Draenei second and night elf third.

Male and female really should be different categories...

This can't be upvoted enough - Here, have my stars, too!

Yes, exactly. Female draenei are one of my absolute favorite models in game. Male draenei on the other hand are without a doubt my least favorite. I wanted to vote for draenei, but because of the walking triangles of doom that are the males of that race, I just couldn't.

I'm willing to bet the results get skewed by night elf/blood elf female fan boys.
petermcdonald Jan 5th 2012 12:00AM
That's not really skewed, such bias's speak directly to the question.
I'd vote belf females and probably orc or dwarf males.
The animation of the toons plays a big part too, its a real joy tapping away on the space bar watching you belf twirl around and around while you're waiting for the pull.

I think Orcs have the best dual wield animations. blood elves look the most human so thats why they got the vote and all the sexy silliness of the female blood elf. I think draenei, male and female are the best looking.
forsaken models are horrible. the weird face options dont make sense. its like it was a last minute decision along with trolls. i seriously wonder how trolls procreate because if i was a female troll i would never find a male troll attractive. Worgen would have been my choice had they not changed from the original NPC, Mob model. Human females are ok, human males all look the same and all have the same ugly nose. tauren females need help. the only thing i dont like about male tauren is that some helmets dont work well with them so they give them the goofy open helm face look. goblins have the most detail of all of them but theyre hideous little creatures.

Where's the gnome love?
Necromann Jan 4th 2012 6:16PM
Gnomes only look good as my Forsaken eats them. :)
loli.gigis Jan 4th 2012 6:20PM
If this was the cutest characters hold gigantic weapons contest, then yes they would win :)
Ullaana Jan 4th 2012 6:21PM
@necroman,
Forsaken only look good as my daughter's Gnome warrior frees them from undeath.
Shyster Jan 4th 2012 6:37PM
Why would anyone vote for the looks of gnomes when they're too short for anyone to see/notice? /punchlinedrum
Skyrei Jan 5th 2012 2:36AM
MOAR GNOME VOTES!
For every Vote you don't submit, Willy Wonka puts a Gnome down :(
Arrohon Jan 5th 2012 5:55AM
@Skyrei You mean that I killed a gnome by voting Tauren? I don't know whether I should be distraught or overjoyed...
eliascarlos90 Jan 4th 2012 6:11PM
worgen, not only gives has that beefy strong beast primal look, i can switch and see my armor on a different model, glowing eyes, fangs and claws are awesome

All races have a pretty cool architectural design but it's a shame the models of the old races and even of their buildings are so far behind the latest additions (Worgen/Goblins)
Some models even still suffer from glitchy things like Troll and Tauren Females not blinking, or the textures on the belt of Troll Males stretching when walking.
When they do update the old races it's all about equal (though some races could be used a bit more where are my Draenei/ Belf/ Worgen/ Gnome/ Tauren towns?)
Noyou Jan 4th 2012 10:46PM
You bring up a good point. I can't wait for Darnassus and Ironforge to get more pixels.
Snuzzle Jan 5th 2012 6:20AM
I agree. I voted Tauren, because they are my original love and I still feel most at home in Mulgore, or Thunder Bluff. Or, at least, cow town in Org (sadly Org is the most convenient place to camp). But their age is really showing.
Tauren females do blink though. It's only troll females that don't. Tauren females get the weird pupilless eyes in their portrait.
