...I can't be the only Protection Paladin around here can I?Admittedly, she's my 3rd 'main' character I've maxxed out, but she's also the one I've spent the most time on. I just love the secure feeling I have when I'm running around, Smiting enemies in the name of the Horde and protecting my friends from the onslaught of incoming enemies.

Protadins represent! And yes, you've hit the nail right on the head: security. There's nothing like being able to go just about anywhere you please and know that with the tools and skills at your disposal, you and your allies stand a damn good chance of coming out alive no matter what. There's just something so SOLID about running around with a shield strapped to your back and persevering in the face of danger in the name of the Light, the Horde, the Alliance, whatever your true allegiance is :)

Came back to WoW recently after about a year away, and started up a protadin after years of disc priesting.OMG! I cannot die. I can kill packs and packs of mobs at once. I have no downtime. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE??

Snap, even going as far as mine being my 3rd 'main'. I never got the paladin thing till I read the novels featuring Turalyon and suddenly it clicked for me lorewise. Then I bought my brother a battlechest and he rolled a pally, he was asking me lots of questions about class mechanics and such which I couldn't answer so I had a good long look at my bankadin and decided it was time for her to get shinied up. I specced Prot (my first tanking char) and what was meant to be a short stint at playing the class to better be able to communicate with my brother ended up becoming an addiction for me to my shield maiden :)That invincible feeling of righteous ass kicking comes second for me only to the sound of Avenger's Shield. Is there really anything more satisfying than that clang of your shield belting your adversaries in the face?

Protection pally is my main. But as you might have seen from my many comments here, I play lots of classes. I am not too happy with the holy power thing still, but I do love the spec and what it really means to be a tank. I pretty much tank on all the specs I play (mage tank!) to some extent. I keep going back to ret now and then, and love to play holy, but protection is second nature to me and I have always been one to stick up for friends and strangers alike.
