I've been Discipline since Classic, simply because I liked the way the talents sounded (at least how they sounded like they should work back then). I've tried Holy and Shadow, but only Disc feels "right" for how I play the class. It's become a point of the character's RP even. There are days I think I wasted the then-1000 gold cost of dual speccing for anything more than RP!My tank is Prot and I love that way more than melee DPS; I've tried it on a Rogue and now on the Paladin, and I only keep the Ret spec for necessity. There are times I think tanking is less stressful than healing! But I do like how the control of tanking is similar to healing; there's a level of responsibility I enjoy in combat I don't feel with DPSing. My Mage is Arcane, though I'm not sure I like the changes this expac. I miss being able to pewpew at will with my Arcane Missiles and hope they change things up again in MoP. I don't tend to use her for more than Heroics and alt raids, though.I don't tend to change my specs, even for the "spec of the day" depending on patch nerfs and buffs. I try to learn my favorite spec and use it as well as possible. My raid group's pretty casual, so it works out generally, and I know them well enough to make it work for our group. The specs also become part of my characters' RP and so changing out of them is always hard (but sometimes necessary; yay dual speccing!).
