Patch 4.3.2 PTR official patch notes

Patch 4.3.2 is going to be a relatively minor patch, with one or two big changes -- the 64-bit game client we mentioned earlier today and the cross-realm Raid Finder feature. This is not a content patch, it's a patch with new features (rather than new dungeons or raids). That said, there's still a handful of class changes also going live with patch 4.3.2, and the official patch notes posted earlier today helpfully point them all out.
- In the Raid Finder, players can no longer win multiple copies of the same item on a single roll.
- Vengeance will no longer be triggered by taking damage from other players.
- Hunters, Aspect of the Hawk will now grant roughly 35% more attack power.
- Priests, Mass Dispel should now be working correctly and prefer dispelling targets that have magic affects that can actually be dispelled.
World of Warcraft Patch 4.3.2
Classes: General
- Vengeance is no longer triggered by receiving damage from other players.
Druids
- The Tier 13 Balance Druid 4-piece bonus now also increases the damage of Starsurge by 10%, in addition to its current effect.
Hunters
- Aspect of the Hawk now grants roughly 35% more attack power.
- Deterrence now also reduces damage taken by 30% while active.
- Black Arrow now ticks every 2 seconds for 20 seconds, as opposed to every 3 seconds for 15 seconds. The total damage dealt by the ability is unchanged.
- Lock and Load no longer benefits Arcane Shot, nor is it consumed by Arcane Shot.
Mages
- Fireball damage has been reduced by roughly 6%.
- Pyroblast damage has been reduced by roughly 6%.
Paladins
- Holy Radiance now costs 40% of base mana, up from 35%.
Priests
- Mass Dispel should again prefer dispelling targets that have magic effects that can be dispelled.
Dungeons & Raids
- You can now form same-faction raids with Real ID friends, allowing you to enter Raid Finder in groups larger than 5, run older normal or heroic raids, or participate in Battlegrounds. You will not yet be able to run normal or heroic Dragon Soul with cross-realm raids of Real ID friends.
- Several typo fixes and clarified descriptions have been added to the Dungeon Journal entries for Dragon Soul.
- Players can no longer win multiple copies of the same item on a single Raid Finder boss kill. For example, a player who chooses Need on two set piece tokens or two weapons and wins the first, will not be eligible for the second on that particular boss.

Oh no, no no no no. Well there goes my blood dk owning in bgs. It was fun while it lasted I suppose. Son of a...

As a Blood DK who does mainly PvE, having tons of FotM re-rollers muddying my spec's rep was bad. I'm glad the change is coming.

Woot! Hunter talk!
rodmin Jan 10th 2012 7:24AM
Yup. Frostheim must be hopping out of joy!
And i'm glad i sticked to my frost spec. If i had traded my always-loved frost spec for fire, i'd be crying out loud by now.
And also, in before another slight pala nerf!
monotype Jan 9th 2012 9:27PM
...holy crap, did hunters just get a legit damage reduction CD? So it's hunter!bubble plus hunter!IBF? Blizz, you're so good to us.

We all knew it was coming but:
Oh no! Fire Mage Nerf! D:
Revnah Jan 10th 2012 1:29AM
Actually, it's much milder than I expected after the numbers fire mages put out. 6% is DOABLE. I'm heaving a big *phew* here!

it's the great fire mage nerf of 2012!
clundgren Jan 9th 2012 10:41PM
Eh, I math that out to a 3-4% nerf overall. It's not that bad a nerf; fire mages will still likely rule the charts until rogues start finishing their legendaries. They just won't be so hugely far ahead.
Prelimar Jan 9th 2012 10:49PM
perhaps - but i still like to QQ about it. : )
fire needed love for so long, and its moment in the sun lasted so briefly.
clundgren Jan 10th 2012 1:14AM
Well...I think fire has had plenty of "moments in the sun." Even in 4.2, while Arcane was superior, Fire had Alyxrazor. In 4.1 it was the preferred spec; recall that Arcane received several hotfixes at that time to even be considerd viable.
On top of that, it will still likely be top dps. How is its "moment in the sun" over?
Prelimar Jan 10th 2012 9:21AM
arcane and frost were the go-to specs for almost all of Wrath. fire has lasted for just a couple patches. seems quite different to me.
Camero Jan 10th 2012 1:30PM
... Wrath was 3 major patches long. Cata was likewise. The only difference in terms of time is that we've not spent a year whaling on Cataclysm's endboss whereas we did in Wrath. And dependent on how fast Blizz are with MoP and how good people work with their nerfs, you may yet have that moment in the sun for as long as Wrath lasted.
B1ue Jan 17th 2012 8:14AM
@Prelimar Arcane was *not* the go-to spec for all of Wrath. It did just fine, yes, but Fire was superior up until Onyxia, and after you got the second 25 man trinket in ICC, which only procced off DOT ticks and so was useless to Arcane.

"Vengeance is no longer triggered by receiving damage from other players."
TO THE GROUND!
Jabadabadana Jan 9th 2012 9:42PM
Wow that vengeance change is a fairly significant alteration to the way pvp goes. Especially for ferals.
Personally, with the decoupling of kitty and bear in MoP, I don't think that this needs to change. Blood dk's are annoying because of their survival, not their damage. Prot wars have been dead as anything but flag carriers for awhile. Not sure when the last time I saw a serious pvprot pally was.
I know some people find the idea of a pvp'ing tank offensive, but dang.
owenstanley Jan 9th 2012 10:24PM
You've never been hit by a blood dk with 13k+ AP of stacked vengeance have you? I've been hit on my hunter with 4.2k resil for 35k by god knows what by them. I'm lucky if my chimera shot crits that hard when i have my cds up on a target with that kind of resil.
On another note deterrence buff woo! :D Suck it DoT's!!
monotype Jan 9th 2012 10:26PM
It was probably death strike. Blood DKs do stupidly high damage with it.
clundgren Jan 9th 2012 10:44PM
Everyone knew this was coming. Tank specs were running out of control in BGs. Yes, feral and DKs were the prime offenders, but ports were enjoying the OP mechanic too.
If you want to do dps levels of damage, bring one of your class's dps specs. All tanks have at least one.
Randomize Jan 9th 2012 10:47PM
I don't know about you, but 30k-40k death strike crits on 4k res targets are a bit ridiculous.
